Any updates on goalies or defence men at this tournament or are we going to be subjected to another round of meaningless goal stats that we can all find out ourselves.

I understand you want to post scoring leaders but please get some info on the latest games too.

Does anyone have a link that shows all the scoring leaders from each team, game summaries, etc?

Any predictions on the semi-finalists? I say NSWC POE Calgary and Notre Dame.

1:34 ok please help us find the "M.... goals stats we can all find out ourselves"

Another useless post by the blogger. When will this ever end? I'm getting very tired of this and that is one of the reasons I have never bought that newsletter that likely contains 2 pages of crapola.

Why don't you contact the blogger or the owner of the site and ask them to take these posts down or raise concerns instead of putting it here? Just remember that without these blogger posts, you wouldn't be able to bitch and complain.

The only people who enjoy these stats are the parents of the kids on the stats. I'm sure the scouts don't care. So one would ask, why are they there? How about some informative scouting reviews of the games. Like who played well (which is not about who scored the most). Who was the defensive forward of the game etc.
Are your ranking purely picked on stats?
If they are, then we could all do it.
We expect more than just stats.

If you were following the WEHP Twitter account or the posts on here all day and night last night. you would no that they were updating the finals as they happened and reporting other stuff right away. If you don't want to read the scoring leaders, then don't!

Does anyone no a better site with rankings, better coverage? This bites the big one. Just terrible

This makes me laugh all of these people complaining about the posts, yet they keep coming back. Find somewhere else to go if you dont like what you see, very easy solution i think?

Yes
I read this blog for scouting reports not stats.
Stats have a place as part of a report.
I never see a report that talks about anything other than stats.
Please start giving reports on games and player performances other than stats. Without advice from coaches and parents.
Saying a kid had a great game because he got 5 points is a report about stats not his game play.
I don't think I care to wait for this to occur.

if you want scouting reports, go talk to a WHL scout, head scout or GM and ask them for one? i think this is a news site pointing out who the top prospects are not a site to lay out scouting reports for you to have for whatever reason. go make your own site or go elsewhere, there are plenty of scouting sites you can go visit.

YOU cheap SOB, pay the $10 and get the total list, not based on points. In the end it will be pretty close.

I want a place where scouting reports are free. I don't want to pay 10 bucks of hard earned money for 2 pages of a newsletter to wipe my arse with. the rankings are stats based. who cares about stats and goals, they mean nothing.

Maybe one of the reasons that 2/3 of the kids drafted at 15 never play in the WHL is that they are picked by their stats!
Just a thought.

same guy over and over bitching he is mad cause his kid cant get the 5 point gms let alone 1 point how about post positive things if you dont like it dont go to the site get a life, and i will bet your[[[[ little ]]]]boy is not that responsible either in his own end ,and you just are looking for something to build your self esteem.just let things work out the way they go,you cant change what teams and scouts think ,you just make your self look like a idiot lol lol

"Saying a kid had a great game because he got 5 points is a report about stats not his game play."

You see this all the time. It makes the coaches and parents happy. It takes more than stats to be a great player. Getting good stats at 15 has nothing to do with getting good stats at 20. Coaches are the worst at promoting kids that make them look good, like they ever taught them how to do it.

Any updates on the West Central/Winnipeg Hawks game?

Jost a good player, but selfish. You often catch him not passing to his linemates who are better positioned than himself. Points are too important to him. Coach doesn't seem to mind whatever the reasons are. Perhaps coach is hoping the points will help them noticed.

See Jost as a 98 Kawaguchi. Both good players, but difficult to see them vs. big players in WHL.

Goal stats are not meaningless. They don't tell everything but they are important. Anytime I hear someone complain about certain posts I know they are jealous. Stats are what they are. They are facts and that's it. They do not mean that certain kids did not have great games however you may notice that the same players on the teams consistently get the most points. Scouts look at points. These usually are a measure of the best players. Scoring is hard and to do it consistently is even harder. They also look at many other things...compete level, skating, defensive play, hockey sense ect...Usually if a player has these attributes they get points--so point matter. There are different kinds of players and not everyone will be a goal scorer. This is the age where kids become labelled as to what kind of player they are. The scouts will do this. Be the best at what you are. Finally its far from over. Size, speed and determination will change in the next couple of years. The real job of the scout is to try and predict this...how tall are mom and dad, how big are his feet and does he have older siblings that play....how fast and big are they. Its not a science rather an educated guess. Enjoy the ride because there is nothing you can do...its up to your kid and mother nature.

Watch 'Making the cut', where NHL scouts cut the highest scourer, calling him 'selfish player'. Very educational DVD. Watch together with your players.

8-25 -- so true

8:45 am

I'm hoping what you are saying isn't completely true and that scouts delve deeper (which I think is the case) because our leading scorer on my son's team is FAR from our best player. Don't think I'm being jealous because I'm pretty objective on my game observations.

The fact of the matter is he's small, selfish, with an awkward skating style. Fortunately for him his father is the coach. He is provided with the luxury of doing whatever he wants. (2+ min shifts, shots that should be passes, playing out of position etc).

This doesn't effect my son as he is a defenseman but does hurt the 3 other more talented forwards on the team who are missing out from playing with this young man. Unfortunately no one can say anything as the coach has surrounded himself with loyal subjects who will make life hard for those who challenge the status quo.

For the sake of these men, I hope the scouts are able to see whats happening but then again, who do they talk to when they want to delve deeper? I'm thinking they simply get the run around from the assistant coaches.

Points are definitely valuable but doing things like trying to bank pucks off the back of the goalie rather than hitting the wide open man parked in the slot isn't right and shouldn't go unnoticed. The fact of the matter is that this young man has made it everything about stats that he simply refuses to anyone!
