WEHP Announce Provincial/U.S.A First and Second Team All-Stars

With the "un-official" first half of the season now complete, we have polled various scouts, managers and have taken our own opinion and come up with a Provincial First and Second All-Star team for each province and the western U.S.A..  As with any list or All-Star team, players who others believe should be on it may or may not be left off but that doesn't mean they aren't first rounders or great players.  In some cases, the voting was extremely close - within 1 vote.

Guess there haven,t been very many people watching the POE defense lately, same place they were at in september, thought the idea was to watch the improvement thru out the season

For the most part this looks pretty accurate, thought Travis Child out of Camrose looked good and as well the Sherwood park tender Zachiary Klassen looked good as well,

Kellog over guhle

I think Zimmer and Scott out of Notre Dame may have been missed because they are playing midget. It is a big jump playing against guys that in some cases are 3 yrs older.

Are the '97s in Alberta that weak or are those '98s just that good? Just wondering....

Anonymous said...

I think both

Is Ethan Bear not a SK product? It's amazing that anyone can score on PoE with all those 'allstars' on 'd' (or maybe they haven't been that good)

97s not bad. 98s amazing

agree with 242pm comment.if there d are the super or top how can la select beat them 7 to 2 and bwc beat them twice and seafair beat them too.

I think the last comment may be as accurate as saying its cold in saskatchewan, yes the big D for POE was good at the early part of the year, yes they held the tier three teams in the US down to no goals but then so would have all the triple A teams in western canada, the issue is they are getting scored on and the D is beatable, just ask vernon OHA kelowna, and kamloops of late, this is a good team but they are being caught up to by developing associations or clubs and the other academy, there are some games that could adjust the thinking in the omaha group this weekend

replace eskra with tesarowski, replace hebig with ryker cole and replace blade roh with palchewich, replace morrison with evan wurle and you have your teams. But, pretty good though. Campese gets on because of production, but could easily be replaced because he just doesn't compete hard enough.

Scoring on them isn't that difficult, shoot the puck between their very strong D towards the net and it goes in quite frequently as many have discovered lately. Vernon did it three times in the first last weekend and were up 3-1 early.

Poe will be ok at jrmt tourney

Replace Eskra with Tesarowski???
He doesn't have the numbers or the grit to warrent that. Seems like they are pretty good teams, everyone could put this one on and this one off. Thay are just peoples opinions.

Put arnold for a forward he is 3rd in the top scoring in the sbaahl north division

Its interesting with the top forwards for the teams that show 100 plus points for there big guns, most of these points come from games that are won by 5+ goals, basically they are from running the score up, funny if they weren,t on the teams could the teams still win, likely, if the other players on the team got that extra Ice and or they collectively scored those points amongst each other the scores would be the same, so if the big guns can score when the games are tough then that matters and that alone, there are lots of players that have talent, its the ones that can use it all the time that count,200 points a year wont get you to the next level if all those points are playing against teams that should not be in your group, have a look at the assists not jst the goals, that is a team player and not just a goal score, example look at Barzel, he is a all around player and should be #1 in the draft.

Zach Whitby should be up there in Ab

Zac Paziuk should be there in sk forcheck backchecks and scores

Anonymous said...

Pazuik is no where near the calibre of any of the Sask. forwards on the all star team. There are still another 5 or 6 guys ahead of him.

Zac Paziuk should be there he played with the Jr Blades for 7 years were did those other 5 or 6 play ?
