Sunday's Bantam Action

Saskatchewan SBAAHL
Prince Albert Venice House Raiders 10 - Notre Dame Bantam AA Hounds 0
The Venice House Raiders follow up a 9-0 win at home and head to Notre Dame and once again walk all over the AA Hounds 10-0.  It was a huge night for the line of Drew Warkentine, Reid Manson and Matthew Isbister who combined for 20 points.  Warkentine and Isbister each had 3-4-7 while Manson had 1-5-6.  All three players are tied atop of the SBAAHL early scoring race with 9 points in 2 games.  Jordan Rock got the shut-out for PA, stopping all 16 shots he faced.  The Venice House Raiders fired 46 on Notre Dame goalie Colby Entz.

West Central Wheat Kings 4 - Sask Valley Vipers 2
In an early season battle of what should be two of the better teams in the SBAAHL North, saw the Wheat Kings win their 2nd straight game to start the season with a 4-2 win.  Big power forward Kolby Johnson paced the attack with his first 2 goals of the season while Ryder Kissick followed up his 4 point game with another goals and Garrett Pilon notched his 2nd of the season.  Justen Close was once again in net and was strong again, stopping 38/40 shots.  Sask Valley got single goals from Levi Kleiboer and Brody Madarash and goalie Joel Gryzbowski stopped 38/42 shots.

Balgonie Prairie Storm 5 - Estevan Bruins 2
The Prairie Storm start off at 1-0-0 and drop the Bruins to 0-2-0 in the early going with a 5-2 win on Sunday.  Jared Dmytriw who came over from Weyburn this season scored 4 goals to pace the attack!  Mitchell Morrison and Kolten Ganson each had 1-1-2 for Estevan.  Morrison and Ganson have been in on 3 of the 4 goals for Estevan this season and Morrison has been especially good.

Swift Current Kabos Raiders 8 - Yorkton Terriers 6
A much improved Swift Current Squad start the season off with a bang in scoring 8 times with a much better offensive attack in 12-13 to be sure.  Offensive catylist Kole Lind led the way with 1-2-3, Jarrett Gerlach scored a pair of goals while '99 Cole Keenleyside and Dylan Rossiter also had 3 point games.  For Yorkton, Brayden Miller had 2-1-3 and a pair of '99 born forwards Tyler Stratechuk and Logan Foster had multiple point games for Yorkton in the loss.

Alberta - AMBHL Action
Saturday Result - Late
Calgary Northstar Sabers 9 - Okotoks Oilers 0
The Northstar Sabres are doing exactly what we thought they'd do this year and that is being much improved as they move to 3-0-0 with an easy 9-0 win.  Parker Aucoin scored 3 goals, all of which were SH markers in the win, he also added an assist.  Aucoin, who we have ranked in the first round now has 7-2-9 in 3 games to start this season.  Brett Campbell scored his first two goals of the season for Calgary and Logan Drackett stopped all 26 shots he faced for the SO.  Calgary fired 50 shots on the young Okotoks squad, who feature 7 - 99 born players.

Sunday Action
Southeast Hockey  Hounds 8 - Spruce Grove PAC Saints 5
The Hockey Hounds have followed up 3 losses to start the season with their 2nd consecutive win by beating Spruce Grove 8-5 at home on  Sunday.  The Hounds got out to a 6-3 lead after the 1st period and cruised from there.  Leading the way for Southeast was Tyr Thompson with his 2nd consecutive game with a Hat-Trick and Michael Doneff also scored 3 times for Southeast.  Jordan Taupert capped off a great weekend with 2 more assists and now has 9 pts in 5 games.  For the Spruce Grove Saints, Owen Churko had his first pts of the season with 2-1-3 and Josh Borynec had 1-2-3 and now has 6 pts in 4 games.  Chase Hawkins leads the team with 7 pts.

Lethbridge Golden Hawks 5 - Red Deer White 1
The Golden Hawks move to 4-1-0 and look to be a serious contender in the early going with some decent depth.  Jordan Roy scored twice as did Jed Horvath scored 2 goals again and is off to great start now with 5-3-8 in 5 games.  Blake Keiner continues to put up points with another 2 assists.  Goalie Matt Lukacs stopped 27/28 shots for Lethbridge.  Red Deer's lone goal came from Tyler Steenbergen, his 12th of the season in his 6th game.

Calgary Bisons 3 - Airdrie Xtreme 2
The Bisons move to 4-0-0 despite a huge goaltending performance by Kurtis Chapman in stopping 42/45 shots.  The Bisons fell behind 2-0 in this one but got 1-2-3 from Jake Ashton and goals from '99 born Kyle Olson and a gwg from Matthew Phillips late in the 3rd for the win.  Jordan McConnell and Adam Tisdale replied for Airdrie.

Calgary Flames 4 - Red Deer Black 3
The Calgary Flames (formally Bronks) move to an impressive 3-0-0 with a narrow win over RD Black.  Nolan Kurylo and Carter Cziakowski each scored 1-1-2 and Cziakowski leads the team in scoring from D with 2-5-7 in his first 3 games.  We have had Cziakowski in the top 2 rounds and believe he could move up.  Kyle Dumba, brother of Matthew stopped 23/26 games.  Of note from Red Deer Black, Luke Coleman scored once again, he now has 6 games in 5 games to start.
