A little perspective on the Royals. They were 2-4 in the qualifying rounds in MH and St A. They were 3-2 in subsequent placement games for a total of 5-5. They gave up 32 goals in ten games for a 3.20 GAA. When they leave Calgary this is an average team. Don't want to dampen the hype but there hasn't been much success outside of Cowtown. Seafair and Prairie Storm both have beaten the Royals in tournament play and Semi has handled them twice in a row.
That is one of the most truly insigtful assessments of the Royals all season.
A little perspective on your note. Royals beat SSAC, Lloydminster, Sherwood Park and dominated Semi in shots/play in both one goal games. They outshot BWC and kept it close till less than 5 minutes in the 3rd (3-2) and gave a PP goal. Are the Royals the best team in Western Canada? No but they can play with anyone and win any given night vs. the best of them. They beat Seafair in RR in Victoria and lost to them in the Finals in OT when leading 3-1 with less than 6 minutes to go (good learning). They took Prairie Storm lightly but that's why the games are being played. There's no hype. Not the most skilled hockey team out there but you better be able to skate to have a chance vs. them. One of the top 3 teams defensively in Western Canada.
cac also beat the royals burke marshall dominated
