AMBHL
Airdrie 4 - Red Deer White 2
The Xtreme clinch home ice advantage in the first round by virtue of the win over Red Deer White and will await their first round opponent as Red Deer White and Lethbridge are both tied with 26 points and both play today.  Both Red Deer and Lethbridge have tough games today as Red Deer will head to play the Calgary Royals while the Bisons will head to Lethbridge.
In this all important game, it was 98 born F- Dillon Dube with 1-2-3.  Dube has 18 points in 20 games this season as a first year.  Team scoring leader Ryan Barrow had 3 assists, giving him 32 points in 32 games.  Red Deer White team scoring leader Chase Olsen scored his 14th of the season and his 34th point in 32 games.  Goalie Brody Dirk turned aside 38/41 in net and has a .911 save percentage this year.

Calgary Royals 8 - Red Deer Black 2
The Calgary Royals enter the final day of league play with a 2 point lead in the overall standings over SSAC with the 8-2 win.  As has been the case all year long, the Royals got balanced scoring and limited their opponents in shots on goal, allowing just 16.  For the Royals it was Kelton Driedger and Nick Wihak with 1-2-3 each.  Entering the playoffs, the Royals have 7 players with 12 goals or more.  And with Andrew McCann scoring his first goal of the season yesterday, every single Royals player has scored a goal now.  Jake Morrissey stopped 16/18 shots in the win and continues to carry the load with league leader Zach Sawchenko out with injury.  For Red Deer Black it was Layne Bensmiller scoring his team leading 18th of the year.  Bensmiller and his 41 points trail team scoring leader 98 F- Tyler Steenbergen by 5 points for the team lead.  After Bensmiller and Steenbergen, the next best on Red Deer Black has just 15 points.

Lloydminster 6 - Spruce Grove 3
In what was a first round preview, it was Lloydminster doubling up on Spruce Grove 6-3.  For Lloydminster, it was D- Tyler Miller scoring 2 goals, giving him 5 on the season.  Team scoring leader Andrew Koep continued his fantastic season with 2-1-3 and now has 41-19-60 in 30 games.  Lloydminster G- Nelson Heisler faced just 9 shots in the win.  For Spruce Grove, who were outshot 49-9, they got 1-1-2 from Ryan Cox and Luc Smith.  Both Cox and Smith have 19 points this season.

Medicine Hat 4 - Calgary Northstar Sabres 2
In a game that really meant nothing in terms of the final standings, it was Medicine Hat doubling up Calgary 4-2.  For Medicine Hat, it was Mitch Hallas scoring 1-1-2 and leading the way.  Hallas is 2nd in team scoring now with 20-23-43 and trails team scoring leader in 98 born Jaeger White and his 50 points.  Another star 98 born Jordan Taupert is 3rd with 40 points this season.  For the Northstar Sabres, Kyler Marriott scored his first of the season.

Lethbridge 4 - Okotoks 2
Lethbridge will play either Airdrie or Medicine Hat in the first of the playoffs and keep 3rd place hopes alive with a 4-2 win yesterday.  Laramie Kostelansky scored 1-2-3 for Lethbridge and now has 13 goals which has him in a 3-way tie for second in team goal scoring with Chase Bell and Andrew Thompson.  Speaking of Thompson, he scored his 12th and 13th in this game.  G- Arik Weersink stopped 18/20 in the win for Lethbridge.  For Okotoks, it was Jaret Bordt scoring his 2nd and Bradley Sylvestre with his 3rd.  Okotoks was without best player Mason McCarty due to injury and were out-shot 44-20.

Edmonton CAC 7 - St. Albert 2
CAC win a huge game yesterday over St. Albert in the battle for 3rd place in the division.  CAC has been one of the hottest teams in the entire AMBHL in recent weeks and finish out at 21-9-3, having scored 172 goals.  The 172 goals scored place CAC 2nd in the league behind the leader SSAC.  In this game, it was Andrew Marshall, Derek Brown and Dylan Stewart all scoring 2 goals.  Marshall has 23, Stewart 33 and Brown now has 18 goals this season.  Cole Gammer and Brayden Burke each had 3 assists.  Burke, Stewart, Brown and Marshall all have over 50 points this season.  It is that depth that could give teams fits in the playoffs.  For St. Albert, it was Friesen with his 3rd and Tristan Gavin with his 5th.  G- Patrick Dea was less than stellar allowing 7 goals on 38 shots he faced.

Edmonton SSAC 7 - Grand Prairie 3
SSAC lock up first place in the division and the North overall with a 7-3 victory.  They remain 2 points back of the Calgary Royals for top spot overall.  Leading the way for SSAC it was 98 born D- David Quennville with 3 goals and 1 assist.  Quennville leads all AMBHL defenceman in scoring with 16-27-43 in 31 games.  League scoring leader Giorgio Estephan, who we expect to be a top 10 selection in the WHL Bantam Draft had 2 goals and 3 assists, giving him 40-56-96 with one more game remaining today for his chance at 100 points.  98 born F- Tyler Benson coninued his unreal season with 1-2-3, giving him 32-49-81 points.  SSAC out-shot Grand Prairie 55-33.  For Grand Prairie, it was Auston Hrehoruk with 1-1-2, he now has 15 points.    Team scoring leader Kolton Dorum scored his 19th goal of the season and may be given a look on draft day.

Winnipeg Warriors B2 4 - Yellowhead Chiefs 3
The 98 born Warriors team were led by Nicholas Labossiere with 2 goals and 1 assist in this game.  Labossiere leads the Warriors in scoring this year with 25 points in 24 games and his 18 goals are tied for 2nd in the league, behind league leader Vince Loschaivo and his 22.  Another top prospect for the 98 group D- Austin Friesen had 2 assists.  For Yellowhead, Clark, Bergeson and Dereniwski scored.

Are you saying "BWC defeats Ridge Meadows" because you don't want to show the real score?

Anonymous said...

The score was 6 to 1 and it looked like there was a real effort not to run the score up or injure someone.

Langley 5 Coquitlam 1

Langley will get Cloverdale next, Cloverdale will win that in 2 straight.

Cloverdale will play Holyburn tomorrow. Are you trying to say that if the Colts win they would play Langley?
