Rankings

The 1998 top 200 player rankings have been adjusted after the completion of the North American Hockey Classic in Winnipeg.  The tournament featured most of the 1998 born class and some big adjustments were made with players rising and falling and some new additions.  The 1999 born top 120 some some minor movement which also reflects the tournaments that have taken place in recent weeks.  We continue to make adjustments to the western USA top 30 as well.

Interviews

The interview section this time around takes a look at a defenseman from the lower mainland who is a fast riser and it looks like he'll be a top 3 round selection in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  Also, I had a chance to interview a player who played in the North American Hockey Classic who proved to be maybe the most elite player in the draft and he also comes from a near 500 goal NHL father.  We speak with a player who plays in a lesser known association but has big talent to be a top power forward coming up in the near future.  Lastly, I spoke with perhaps the top goalie in the draft who should be picked in the same area as Dea, McBride and Child were last year.

We give a re-cap of the tournament and discuss which teams and players stood out.  As well, we give our WEHP first and second team allstars in the 1998 and 1999 age group.

Alaska Ice Dogs Win Calgary Stampede Challenge

Alaskan Ice Dogs 10 - Foothills Elite 7 FINAL
The Alaska Ice Dogs who averaged nearly 10 goals per game in the tournament get 5 goals from Parker Aucoin in winning the championship today.  Sean Montgomery who played last season with the Calgary Royals and scored 17 goals had 1 goal and 4 assists.  Sean Richards had 4 points as well.  Brayden Dunn scored 2 goals, giving him 11 in the tournament and Michael Clarke continued his strong play with a 3 point game.  The Alaskan Ice Dogs fired 61 shots on the Foothills goalies Kurtis Chapman who was replaced late in the 2nd period by Jake Carlson.  Kayden Pickles stopped 28 of 35 in the win.  Parker Aucoin won the scoring race with 15 goals and 6 assists, 8 points more than the 2nd place scorers Matthew Phillips, Jordan Taupert and Michael Clarke.  Safe to say the strength of next years draft will shift back to Alberta for top end talent.  Players such as all the Edmonton Mercurys with Clague, Rotundo, Benson and Quenneville weren't even taking part.  All four of those players have a very good chance at first round selection next May.


Foothills Elite 7 - 98 Nationals 4
The Foothills Elite will move on to the final of the Stampede Challenge powered by a 4 goal first period and a 6-2 lead after the 2nd to win it 7-4.  Michael Clarke continued his strong tournament with 2 goals and 1 assist, Clarke now has 8 goals in the tournament.  Brayden Dunn scored his tournament leading 9th and Nolan Kurylo scored a pair, he now has 5.  The Nationals got 2 goals from Jackson Gibson, his first two of the tournament.  Jake Carlson got the win in goal for Foothills, turning aside 33 of 37 shots while Brodan Salmond stopped 41 of 48 for the Nationals.

Alaskan Ice Dogs 9 - Green Machine 1
The Ice Dogs continue to pile in the goals this tournament, having scored 48 now in 5 games heading to the final.  Parker Aucoin continues to show why he'll be a first rounder in the 2013 bantam draft, scoring 3 goals and 1 assist.  His 10 goals in 5 games lead the tournament as do his 15 points.  Highly regarded by WEHP, Ryley Mckinstry picked up 4 assists from defense.   The beat goes on this spring for Matthew Phillips as he scored another 2 goals, giving him 9.  Jordan Taupert and Nolan Walker also had strong games as reported.  In goal, Brett Petek turned aside 22 of 23 shots he faced.  Petek played last season in the Central Albert Hockey League BT2 and will look to challenge for the backup spot behind Kurtis Chapman in Airdrie next season.  Kolby Johnson was the lone goal scorer for the Green Machine, he finished the tournament with 3 goals and 5 assists in 5 games.  We should point out that Ice Dogs defenseman James Millar has been punishing all weekend long with strong defensive play and big hits.  Millar isn't one of the "big" names in Alberta but offers something a bit different.  99 born Kyle Olson continues to impress as well despite his small size.

Calgary Stampede Challenge Update

The Calgary Stampede Challenge perhaps isn't what it was in regards to overall elite talent, but this year's event still has many top picks and a handful of potential top 2 rounders.  The Alaskan Ice Dogs feature primarily Alberta players and mostly all from Southern Alberta.  However, there are a handful of other talent players such as; Nolan Walker from Alaska, whom we interviewed in a recent newsletter.

At this point the Alaska Ice Dogs are dominating as expected, they are currently 3-0-1 and have scored 37 goals.  First round rated prospect Parker Aucoin and Matthew Phillips who is having a tremendous spring hockey season lead with 7 goals.  1999 born Kyle Olson continues to show why he'll be a high pick in 2014 as he is one of four players with 10 points or more which include the aforementioned Aucoin, Phillips along with Jordan Taupert.  Taupert has 5 goals and 11 points and really shows lots of skill and plays bigger than his size.

The Green Machine, Foothills Elite and 98 Nationals all have several prospects who are currently in our rankings.  Kolby Johnson, who is from Saskatchewan is a big 6'2 inch power forward who will be watched very closely next season and is doing well at the tournament.  His team-mates from the Green Machine; Skyler Mckenzie who played last year on a very good Sherwood Park squad is a smallish forward with skill and Conner Kendall is showing well too.  Kendall played last season in the Calgary AA league within the Royals organization and he showed add some scoring to the AAA's this year.  The Foothills Elite have several of the other top Calgary and area players such as high scoring prospect Brayden Dunn, towering defenseman Kyle Yewchuk, talented offensive Airdrie forward Jordan McConnell.  Goaltenders Hunter Virostek of the Green Machine has showed very well.  Virostek played with the Foothills Bisons of the SCAHL last season.  Another goalie who has shown well is Riley McVeigh from the Nationals.

The final will go tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 Calgary time.

NHL Draft Today - WEHP Top 10 Rankings

The NHL Draft will begin tonight in Pittsburgh, which is the day most hockey fans have marked on their calendar and eagerly await with much anticipation.  Now, I'm not as excited as our forte around here is focusing on the bantam draft.  However, with the draft tonight, I thought it would be fun to predict the Western Canada Top 10 prospects.  Here goes!

1.   Ryan Murray - Everett Silvertips
- Ryan was drafted in the 2008 bantam draft 9th overall.
2.   Griffin Reinhart - Edmonton Oil Kings
- Griffin was a 3rd overall pick in the 2009 bantam draft to which the Oil Kings traded up with Chilliwack for.
3.   Matt Dumba - Red Deer Rebels
-  Matt was a 4th overall pick in the 2009 bantam draft.
4.   Morgan Reilly - Moose Jaw Warriors
- Morgan was selected 2nd overall in the 2009 bantam draft.

Prospect Profile - Dylan Thiessen

One of the prospects that has a good chance of being selected very early in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft is Dylan Thiessen of the Winnipeg Monarchs.  Thiessen, has played age advanced hockey in Winnipeg for the past couple seasons now and hasn't looked out of place in doing so.  Dylan played in the Challenge Cup with the Vancouver Vipers and had 7 points in 6 games but was injured during the tournament - suffering a wrist injury.  The injury forced Dylan to miss the huge tournament this past weekend in Winnipeg.  Here is a recent interview we did with Dylan that appeared in the newsletter a while back.

Where did you play your minor hockey? What are some of your favourite personal and team memories up to this point in your hockey career?
I played my youth hockey at Roblin Park Community Club and started peewee hockey at 10 with the Assiniboine Park Rangers. I played the last two years with the Winnipeg Monarchs age advanced. My favourite memories include being in the top five in league scoring playing with the Assiniboine Park Rangers and winning the city championship with them. Another one of my favourite memories is tying for the league lead in points in my first year with the Monarchs, and then this year scoring the overtime goal in game seven to put my team into the finals.

You have played age advanced hockey in Winnipeg in each of the past two hockey season. What is the reason for doing this and how do you think it has benefited your overall development so far?
The reason I played age advanced the past two years is because of the higher level of play. Playing with older players forced me to play at my best every game. Playing age advanced benefited me greatly because I constantly had to play at a faster pace, play stronger and play smarter.

What did it mean for you to be amongst the top 20 scorers and average almost a point per game, playing age advanced this season? What was the reason for that type of success do you feel?
It was an honour to have these statistics this year playing age advanced. I owe this to my coaches this year for putting me on in all situations and to my teammates

Now that the regular season has ended. What hockey related plans do you have for the spring/summer months in regards to tournaments, team and training?
I have a busy spring/summer planned. I am playing in my fourth year with the Boys of the North, coached by Larry Bumstead. I look forward to our trip to Europe this April. I am also excited to play tournaments for the Vancouver Vipers in Vancouver, Toronto Pro Hockey in Toronto, and the Jr. Steelers in Winnipeg. I will also be busy all summer working out with a trainer at McDoles gym.

What strengths in your game do you feel help set you apart from the other 98 born players in Manitoba? On the other hand, what weaknesses are you going to be working on over the next year to get ready for the 2013 bantam draft?
One of my greatest strengths is how I see the ice and distribute the puck. My coach complimented me on being a 200 foot player as I play well in all zones of the ice. I work hard at face-offs as I understand their importance in controlling the puck. I feel it is important to improve in all areas of my game. One area especially is my speed. That is my goal this summer in my summer training.

Who are some of the hockey players in your region that have either helped you or you looked up to along the way?
Zach Court, Jackson Keane and Reid Stefanson are three players that have helped me the past few years. They have really helped my game by playing on a line with them different times through the past two years. I have also learned a lot from them off the ice from observing their various leadership styles. I hope to take what I have learned from them and take a leadership role on my summer and winter teams.

Lastly, who is your favourite hockey player and which NHL player do you feel best describes your playing style?

My favourite hockey player and the one I feel best describes my playing style is Jonathan Toews. I try to model my game after his by being strong defensively while still being an offensive threat, as well as being dominant in face-offs.

North American Hockey Classic Review

The biggest spring/summer hockey tournament has just been completed in Winnipeg this past weekend as the Edmonton Mercurys win the 1998 Elite division and the Alberta Alliance win the 1999 Elite division.

It was somewhat expected that the powerhouse Edmonton Mercury's would roll through until at least final with a star studded forward group and a defensive group that featured consensus top pick Kale Clague.  The forward group had Tyler Benson, Alex Rotundo, Sam Steel as well as defenseman David Quenneville who we believe to be first rounders currently.


The Alberta Alliance did well through the tournament in at defeated the Western Canada Selects in the final led by Trey Fix-Wolansky, Cameron Lockard and Ryan Anderson to name a few.  The Western Canada Selects featured a collection of players from throughout western Canada that WEHP helped put together to form a team that wasn't a pushover by any means.  It was somewhat of a surprise that the powerhouse Vancouver Selects or the Manitoba Falcons didn't make the final though.  The Vancouver Selects have many first round caliber draft picks in our minds as do the Manitoba Falcons.  Perhaps we will have to re-think that to an extent?!


The Saskatoon Jr. Blades who were booted to the AAA Division won that division quite easily.  Jake Leschyshyn, the son of former Saskatoon Blades and Colorado Avs defenseman Curtis, was a standout forward.  But perhaps the top forward was Erik Gardiner, the brother or WHL first rounder Reid Gardiner, led the tournament in scoring.  Erik is already 5'11-6'0 tall and looks to be a fast climber.

June 15, 2012 Newsletter is ready

In an attempt to get this out to most people before the North American Hockey Classic starts tomorrow, we have decided to release this newsletter a bit early.

Rankings

In this edition of the newsletter, we have now increased the number of 1998 ranked players from 170 to 200 due to various reports we have received back and viewings through the spring thus far.  Adjustments have been made to reflect the Challenge Cup tournament, Brandon AAA Challenge Tournament and other various tournaments which have taken place in the past two weeks.  Also updated in the rankings are the results from week 1 of the North American Hockey Classic.

Also included is the top 120 1999 born prospects.  The group will be followed through major tournaments throughout the spring and summer and the list will be work on as we progress through the off season.  We have increased this list from 110 to 120 and it has seen some major movement due to our reports received from western Canada through tournament play.  Once again, several tournaments have been played which have resulted in addition, deletions and adjustments in the rankings.

We also introduce you to the top 30 USA born prospects once again.  We will introduce you to them through interview and various tournament reports this summer as well.

Interviews

I spoke with a Saskatchewan born defenseman whose father once played in the league.  We think he is one of the better skaters in his age group from Saskatchewan and will be taking part in the North American Hockey Classic this coming weekend.

I caught up with a British Columbia forward who was over-shadowed last season on one of the top teams in Western Canada.  This year, he feels he is ready to be the go-to guy.

We meet a 1999 born prospect who is shooting up the rankings very quickly.  He will definitely be one to watch over the next couple season and currently we have him very high on the rankings.

We also meet a Saskatchewan born forward whose father also played in the WHL and also some minor pro.  He is a darkhorse player with huge offensive upside moving forward.

Lastly, we meet a lower mainland scoring star who is ready to be one of the next big scoring stars to come out of a very good program

Tournaments

The North American Hockey Classic just finished week 1 which featured mostly Manitoba and some Saskatchewan teams in both the 98 and 99 age groups.  We give a re-cap of what went on their.  The most competitive tournament of the spring/summer season is set to get underway in Winnipeg this weekend as week 2 of the North American Hockey Classic begins tomorrow.

North American Hockey Classic - Final Day

Alberta Alliance 5 - Western Canada Selects 2
The Alliance, who were one of the favourites to win the 99 born side, did just that, with a 5-2 win on Sunday.  The Alliance got a balanced scoring attack with Holzer, White and Trey Fix-Wolansky amongst the scorers.  The Western Canada Selects got markers from Bains and Nault.

Kody Mcdonald had an outstanding game, scoring 3 goals in leading the Mercury's to a 4-1.  Tyler Shugue from the Vipers held his team in as long as he could in this one.  Jordan Taupert scored the other goal in this game, the smallish Taupert is a skilled player in the Brayden Point mold, we'll see what he can do next year.  Tyler Benson and David Quenneville were outstanding again in this game.  Luke Gingras scored the lone goal for the Vipers.

1999 Born Final in the AAA Division
Saskatoon Jr. Blades 7 - Calgary Jr. Flyers 0
The Saskatoon Jr. Blades who were booted to the 1999 AAA from the '99 Elite division won easily today 7-0 over the Calgary Jr. Flyers.  Erik Gardiner, the brother of Reid Gardiner who was drafted in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft led the way once again with 3 goals and 2 assists.  Another one of our highly ranked prospects Jack Leschyshyn had 1 goal and 2 assists.


Calgary Jr. Hitmen 6 - Jr. Steelers 1
The disappointing tournament for the Jr. Steelers has come to an end with a 6-1 defeat.  The lone goal for the Jr. Steelers was scored by Brett Howden, their top player in the tournament.  The Jr. Hitmen got 2 goals from Parker Aucoin, who plays winter hockey with the Calgary Northstar Sabres and 4 assists from his teammate on that same winter team.  Another player from that Northstar Sabres team - D - Kyle Yewchuk had 2 assists.  Yewchuk is a towering dman who skates quite well for his near 6'4 height.  Defenseman Mark Drohan, who played AA last year, showed very well once again.

North American Hockey Classic - Day 3

* Update: The Vancouver Vipers have defeated the DHI Octane Elite 5-2.  Nate McCarnon and Tye Felhaber each scored 2 goals for the Vipers.  Dante Hannoun continued his strong play with 1 goal and 1 assist.  So it will be the Vipers and the Mercurys in the finals today at 12pm.  They are the top two defensive teams in the tournament and it should be a good battle.


1998 Born - AAA Elite
The Edmonton Mercurys to nobodies surprise have advanced to Sunday's final at the North American Hockey Classic.  Their only hiccup in the tournament was a 5-3 to a very good DHI Octane Elite squad from Ontario.  In the quarter-finals today, they defeated the Calgary Jr. Hitmen 5-2 with 2 goals from D - Cole Johnson and then beat Team Traktor 4-2 this evening with Sam Steel scoring two goals.  The Mercurys will be play the winner of the Vancouver Vipers and the DHI Octane Elite in the final at 12pm local time in Winnipeg.

Thoughts:
Losing Jaeger White didn't really have an affect on the Vancouver Vipers stellar play as they rolled to a perfect 4-0-0 record entering tonight's game against DHI Octane Elite who were the only other team who didn't drop a contest.  The Vipers have barely allowed any goals this spring led by the stellar goaltending of Tyler Shugrue and as many as 4 top 2 round defensive prospects.  On the other end of the spectrum, the Notre Dame Prospects team went 0-5-0 and scored just 11 goals.  Team Traktor, led by two of the top western USA prospects Kiefer Bellows and Joey Anderson were 4-1-0, losing in the semi finals but were the highest scoring team in the tournament.  A bit more was expected of the Jr. Steelers as they went just 3-2-0 and scored just the 7th most goals in the tournament despite having many top offensive prospects.  It has been a while since we have seen the Vancouver Selects Blue and the Saskatoon Jr. Blades teams struggle as they did, both were 1-4-0 and neither team was much of a threat.  The Jr. Blades really struggle to score while the Selects Blue had troubles keeping the puck out of the net, allowing a tournament high 33 goals.

1999 Born - AAA Elite
It will be the Western Canada Selects taking on the Alberta Alliance in the '99 born final tomorrow at 12:15 Winnipeg time.  The Western Canada Selects are a mish mash of players from around western Canada and got to this point via a 2-2 round robin record and then a 6-4 win today vs. the Minnesota Icemen.  Michael Schumacher and Bobby Defriest each scored twice in helping the Western Canada Selects advance.  The Alliance on the other hand went 3-1-0 in the round robin and then got by the tournament favourite Vancouver Selects today 5-4.  Josh Paterson had 2 goals today and Matthew Wedman had 3 assists in packing the attack.

Thoughts:
We were a bit surprised in that the Manitoba Falcons took a while to get going in this tournament, stumbling out of the gate scoring just 7 goals in their first three games and dropping their first two contests.  The Vancouver Selects were very strong throughout the tournament and looked primed to head to the final but dropped a tough 5-4 game to the Alberta Alliance.  The Vancouver Vipers simply did not have it this tournament, going a disappointing 1-4-0.

In a battle of 2-0-0 teams, it is the Vancouver Selects who come out on team and finish a perfect 3-0-0.  James Malm, who we have in our top 10, scored 1-1-2 to lead the way.  Also scoring for the Selects was Rasmussen, Walton, Smart and Mendal.  Riley Sawchuk, a high scoring forward from Prince Albert got the lone Western Canada Selects marker.


Manitoba Falcons 4 - BC Pirates 2
Connor Gutenberg, a high scoring player from Brandon scored again as did Hayden Ostir, Brayden Pachel and Luc Alaire also scored for the Falcons who move to 1-2-0.  Jesse Nelson scored one of the goals for the BC Pirates and Issac Sandomirsky scored in his 3rd straight game for the Pirates.

Vancouver Vipers 7 - Minnesota Machine 2
Our #1 overall ranked '99 born forward Jordy Bellerive has a huge game after a slow start to the tournament, picking up 3 goals and 2 assists tonight.  Brett Stapley, his NSWC teammate picks up 1 goal and 5 assists and currently leads the '99's in scoring.  Justin Almeida, also from NSWC scored tonight as did Jake Harrison.  Nolan Kneen, a NSWC dman had 2 assists.  Scheerer and Knoepke scored for the Machine tonight.

Minnesota Icemen 5 - Alberta Alliance 3
Luke Manning and Ryan Poehling each score twice in the Iceman win.  The Alliance, who suffer their first loss were led by Edmonton Peewee Oilkings scoring star Josh Paterson and his 2 goals.  Ryan Anderson scored once as well for the Alliance.

Vancouver Vipers 6 - Notre Dame Prospects 2
Quinn Benjafield from the NSWC program had his 2nd straight 2 goal game of the tournament and added 2 assists to pace the Vipers to the win.  Dante Hannoun, another high scoring NSWC forward also scored 2 goals.  Robbie Johnson and Michael Regush also scored while fast climbing Matt Barberis from BWC had 2 assists.  Notre Dame got goals from Tyran Brown and Brandon Klatt once again.


Day 2 - 1998 Born Action
Calgary Jr. Hitmen 7 - Notre Dame Prospects 1
A pair of Calgary NE prospects in Brayden Dunn and Parker Aucoin each score twice in leading the Jr. Hitmen to the win.  Matthew Phillips has 1-2-3 as well.  We project all 3 to be within the top two rounds of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  Jared Legien, who has showed well, scores once again for the Notre Dame Prospects.  He is in our rankings too.


Team Traktor 8 - Saskatoon Jr. Blades 3
The Western Elite Hockey Prospects #1 ranked Western USA prospect for the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft picks up 4 goals and 1 assist and Kiefer Bellows has 5 points as they walk past a good Jr. Blades team 8-3. Jordan Borstmayer, Kaden Elder and Cale Fleury score for the Jr. Blades.


Vancouver Selects Blue 7 - Manitoba Predators 3
The Vanvouver Selects were once again led by a pair of prospects from south of the border in Nick Pastujov from Michigan and Kailer Yamamoto from Washington St. leading the way with 2 goals each.  Jesse Lansdell (Surrey), Hank Crone (Dallas) and Michael Pastujov (Michigan) also scored for the Selects Blue.  The Selects Blue came in late for game 1 as several players had to drive in to Winnipeg from Calgary due to bad weather and flights.  Beck Malenstyn brok his wrist and is out for a while.  The Predators got goals from Anea Ferrario, Dane Derewianchuk and D- Adam Thurlbeck.


DHI Octane Elite 5 - Edmonton Mercurys 3
The star studded Edmonton Mercurys actually lost a game in the tournament, much to some peoples surprise by a score of 5-3.  The Ontario based DHI Octane Elite were led by 2 goals from Darby Hendrickson's son Greg.  Sean Day and James Allen each also had 2 points.  For the Mercurys, Alex Rotundo with 1-1-2 and Tyson Jost 0-2-2 were the only multiple point getters.  David Quenneville had a goal again from the point and seems primed for continuous first round status.  Star forward, Tyler Benson held scoreless.


Vancouver Vipers 8 - Red Army 2
Top two round rated prospects Jake Kryski and Quinn Benjafield each score twice in leading the Vipers to a easy win today.  Luke Gingras, from Langley, who is another top rated prospect had a good game with 1-2-3.  Sorry, no reports from good checkers in this one!  Adam Touchette and Austin Friesen scored for the Red Army team.  Both Friesen and Touchette are highly ranked '98 prospects by WEHP.


Manitoba Jr. Steelers 4 - Southern Alberta Selects Fusion 0
The powerhouse Jr. Steelers avenge their opening day loss with a win against the Fusion.  Brett Howden continues to prove why he'll be a top pick in going 1-1-2.  Loschaivo, Martin and D - Lavioe also scored for the Jr. Steelers.  Ryan Kubic had the shut out.


Day 2 - 1999 Born Action
Western Canada Selects 9 - Minnesota Blades 4
A team WEHP had the say in, in terms of roster was able to get their first win with a 9-4 victory over the Minnesota Blades.  Bobby Defriest scored a TRICK  and Prince Albert star forward Riley Sawchuk had 2-2-4.  Austin Nault also scored for the 3rd straight game and added 2 assists.  Vancouver Thunderbirds high scoring ace Tyson Lin had 3 assists as well.  Mitch Machlitt, who is a top 10 player in his age group from hockey hot bed Minnesota had 2 goals.


Alberta Alliance 6 - Minnesota Machine 4
The high powered Alberta Alliance, featuring many players from the '12 peewee champion Edmonton Jr. Oilkings walk past a good Minnesota Machine team 6-4.  Aiden Steinke and Cameron Lockard each had 2 goals.  Lockard has opening up many eyes and will move up in the next rankings.  Trey Fix-Wolansky and Ryan Peckford contributed again as per usual.


North American Stars 4 - Vancouver Vipers 3
In what has to be the most surprising happening of the North American Hockey Classic thus far, the Vancouver Vipers have fallen to 0-2-0.  Again, balance scoring is what is the theme for the most part of the tournament as the North American Stars get goals from four different players;  Logan Foster scored once again and our scout their has taken notice as well as Dylan Burton, Brett Namaka and high scoring Balgonie product Eamon Milligan.  For the under-achieving Vipers it was Bellerive, Stapley and Berard.  Stapley had 3 points in the game.  Our #1 ranked prospect, Jordy Bellerive hasn't been very good thus far!


Vancouver Selects (2-0-0) 5 - Manitoba Falcons (0-2-0)
The Vancouver Selects once again prove why they are the favourites in easily handling a very good Manitoba Falcons team, who has now dropped to 0-2-0.  The Selects were once again led by Nolan Jackson, who picked up his 2nd consecutive multiple point game with 1 goal and 2 assists.  Parm Dhaliwahl scored his 2nd of the tournament, D - Jonathan Smart from Kelowna scored as did Michael Rasmussen and James Malm with his 2nd of the tournament.  The Falcons lone goal came from Nick Henry who plays in Portage area of Manitoba.  Brandon Benoit started for the Falcons and allowed all 5 goals and Logan Thiessen came in to mop up.
