Talent & capitalizing on chances prevailed over puck posession in this one. OHa actually had the territorial advantage but Clovrdale were so quick and lethal when they got a look - not just the 2 stars, either. PP went something like 3/7 and one SHG. They got solid goaltending, too in case anyone is still questioning that. Worthy champs!
Agreed it was a good matchup but Cloverdale had the ability to turn small mistakes into scoring opportunities and had much better finish around the net. OHA is certainly well coached and has good puck possession but they lack the explosiveness and firepower if Cloverdales top players.
What's the goalies name that played for Cloverdale? How did he play?
Kyle Cheema was the goalie for Cloverdale in the Final. He played great, he can handle the puck very well, for example, he was shooting the puck outta the zone on the PK and helping the Wingers on the Breakouts. Great solid Goaltender. Draft prospect?
Cheema played the final in Abby and played a good solid game - both Cloverdale Goalies played well during the tournament. In the Kamloops Final Maggio played for Cloverdale and performed well -could have been MVP if Seto had not been on fire scoring goals.
6:40 PM - I was at the game and he played well but didn't do that with the puck (nice try). OHA have too much puck pressure for any goalie to handle much. He covered up well and angled himself square to the mostly peripheral play which is more than enough with that great goal support (8 or more goals in every game!!!) A good bantam goalie.
Who was in goal for OHA?
How did the boys from Los Angeles do? any talent?
OHA played both of their Goalies in the final
It's Cloverdale vs. Chilliwack tonight at 7:30pm in Chilliwack. Should see a major beatdown from Cloverdale.
Who's the stonger goalie for Cloverdale? I assume Cheema is?
Cheema is the better goalie, but Maggio is very solid too. He got the Win tonight for the Colts in Chilliwack, the Colts won, 14-2.
Both Cloverdale goalies are good Maggio and Cheema - Why would someone assume??????
After watching games at both tournaments recently, would give the nod to Maggio, has more upsides and technically sound, strong skater and a very athletic and mobile goalie. That is not to say Cheema is not a good goalie just a view point - Cheema is a very solid goaltender and can get the job done.
Did any body watch two goal's on Maggio in chilliwack game last night ?
2 Goals that Maggio let in he should have had, wasnt ready for either of them. Cloverdale beat Mission tonight, 6-0. Stukel with the Hatty plus an assist.
