Thursday....Will anybody beat BWC this season?

The BWC Bruins played host to one of the teams who feel they may have a chance at knocking them off this year as the Cloverdale Colts paid a visit. It was same old, same old as BWC skated to a 6-1 victory. The key to success this year for BWC is its balanced attack and that was very much on display once again last night as 6 different goal scorers found the back of the net. DelGrosso, Pasco, Mercer, Szeto, Barzal and Burk all scored for BWC while both the Seto's were held goal-less. Szeto, Mercer, Dombovskiy and Barzal all had 2 point nights. Barzal's goal was a SH marker while Connor Burk's was a 5 on 3 goal. BWC are now 16-0-0 this season in league and tiering play, having outscored the opposition 94-13.

After BWC, there are just 5 points separating 2-7 in the standings and two of those teams played last night as Seafair tied Semiahmoo 3-3. More to come on that match-up later.

..............................

Moving east now to the AMBHL, there were 3 games on the schedule last night. St. Albert doubled up the young Edmonton CAC squad 6-3. Andrew Kary led the attack with 2 goals, including the GWG early in the 3rd period. Kary now has 9 goals this season. 1997 born Andrew Parrott had a pair of assists, his first 2 of the season. Zach Gonek found the back of the net, his 3rd goal of the season. The defenceman now has 12 points in 15 games. 10 different players fround the score-sheet for St. Albert. For CAC, 97 born Brayden Burke had a goal and an assist. Burke is expected to be one of the leading scorers in the league next year and a very high pick in the '12 bantam draft. A pair of other 97's scored for CAC with Andrew Marshall and Dylan Stewart adding singles. How good is CAC going to be next year?!

In an all Calgary battle it was the Calgary Royals over the Calgary Northstar Sabres 5-4. There were 5 different goal scorers for the Royals with Reid Duke scoring 1-1. 11 different players found the score-sheet for the Royals. Jacob Ruissen stopped 31/35 shots in the win. Reid Duke now has 44 pts in 20 games this season. Reid will be a top 10 selection on draft day. For the Northstar Sabres, Kyle Nachtigall led the way with a goal and 2 assists. Nachtigall now has 17 points in 21 games played for the 8-8-5 Northstar Sabres. Derek Mazil stopped 27/32 in the loss, he has a GAA of 3.51 this season.

Finally in the AMBHL, it was the Calgary Bisons goal parade once again as they walked over the Okotoks Oilers 10-1. The Oilers continue to play without Conner Bleackley who will be out until well in to the new year. For the Bisons, who ran their record to 17-3-1, it was MacMaster scoring 2 more goals, giving him 39 goals in 20 this season, he also adding an assist. Brayden Point scored a goal and added 3 assists. Alex Mowbray continued his rapid pace in the second half of the year with 2 more goals, giving him 21 goals in 20 games. Brycen Martin had 3 assists, he now has 1-16-27 in 19 games, leading all AMBHL defenceman in scoring. Even goalie Kealan Williams picked up a pair of assists in the win. He also turned aside 35/36 shots. The Bisons out-shot the Oilers 59-36.

......................

Finally this morning, in the CFHL, it was Melfort over Tisdale 8-4. Leading the way for Melfort was Rylan Freed with 3 goals and 3 assists. Brett Armstrong scored 3 goals for Tisdale.

Any word on AMBHL Allstar game selections yet? Should be interesting what the Bisons do at Forward

When do the selections have to be in? Who ever goes for the Bisons it will be unjust for the other.Leduc is in a similar position at forward. Too bad the league doesnt make it a true allstar game and allow the best players to attend.

The Allstar situation for the Bison's is no different than last year when they had Merkley and Klimchuk.
Nobody should beat BWC in the PCAHA as they seem like a true AAA team in a AA league this year. However, crazy things can happen.

dynitarrSelections were to be in by the 15th. I'm sure most teams have problems decideing on who goes. Looking forward to see how BWC does in St. Albert

If the PCAHA is a double AA league this year, why are Seafair, Cloverdale and Abbotsford still either in the top 10 or given honorable mention? Alberta had no teams that were even in the semi-finals in Medicine Hat, yet they had 7 of the 16 teams in the tournament. Abby and Cloverdale have beaten AAA teams from other provinces this year. The Calgary Royals could only muster one goal against BWC as well and most people from Alberta would consider them a AAA team. There are four or five legitimate AAA teams in Pacific Coast this year.

BWC is better for one reason..Residency rules they do not follow and everyone else has too. They should not be allowed in BC Hockey playoffs but PCAHA does whatever they say and will not even look at the blatant violations

Those are some pretty serious allegations.

You shouldn't say those things unless you can back it up.

I know of blatant residency violations in other associations(abbotsford cloverdale)stop the whining

Not sure on this but it seems Kord Pankewitz is listed as a D and is leading Martin or is that an mistake

Kord Pankewicz played defence in one game and happened to have his biggest offensive output of the season with 3-3-6. He is a forward though.

Okay lets leave it at BWC,NSWC and all clubs play by different rules. Kids can go start before carded and stay regardless of where they live. They can sit out a couple years if needed and go to BWC regardless of where they live..
It is not the same for the local assoc. They play by different rules. Make the rules the same for everyone..At least at POE the kids live there..

Won't happen.

The folks from BC need to calm down and give the Alberta league bashing a break. You want talk about Med
Hat results, I think that BWC lost to Leduc in round robin? Royals beat Abbotsford, badly. Then in the Abbotsford tournament St Albert were winners.
Bottomline there are good teams in both leagues and a bunch can beat each other on any given day!

I think the comparisons started when someone from Alberta called PCAHA a AA league. I agree there are good teams in all provinces.
