Wednesday.....The Americans are coming!

During the past few weeks, I've been rounding up all my sources and friends south of the border and compiling notes in an effort to bring some American content to the site. A few of the people who donate regularly want to become aware of just who to watch down there as a possibility to come to the WHL in a couple years perhaps. There are a few very talented kids who have played in the USA U14 festival who have plans to come to the league. Over the next while and in to the new year, I'll preview a few of them and include the rest in the newsletter. A couple teasers are a talented forward who was born in Edmonton but is now with the LA Selects program and another is playing age advanced hockey in Arizona and was one of the better players in the USA at the U14 festival that took place a while ago. One of them, you'll get to see if you attend the St. Albert tournament. He is a big defenceman on the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes named Johnny Walker, he'll wear #77, watch him, he's a good one! More to come...

.......................

It was a light night across Western Canada in terms of league action. In the AMBHL, the SSAC Soutgate Lions defeated Edmonton KC 5-4. John Queenville and Riley Simpson each had a goal and an assist and backup goaltender Daniel Robinson turned aside 9 of 13 shots. For KC, Nicolas Jones who is starting to perform at levels most of us expected had a goal and 2 assists. Defenceman Tyler Thorburn had a goal and an assist. Shots on goal were 48-13 for SSAC.

In Saskatoon last night, it was a battle of two of the better forwards in the league as Kolten Olynek and the Outlaws took on Collin Shirley and the Bandits. It was Olynek's Outlaws who prevailed with a 5-0 victory. For the Outlaws,it was Jordan Wells with 3 goals, Kobe Kindrachuk had 3 assists and 1998 born call-up Garrett Pilon had a goal and an assist.

I find it kind of asuming when you promote player's from two teams , when they don't even get any points .This site is like the HF Board..
