Wednesday coffee talk

The PCAHA Flight 1 regular season is now well underway after 8 games of tiering play and the BWC Bruins seemingly haven't missed a beat in league play. On Monday night, they defeated the Langley Eagles 9-2. Scoring for BWC was Delgrosso, Chris Seto, Cam Seto and Victor Dombrovskiy all with 2 goals each, Dombrovskiy also added 3 assists for a 5 point night. Then last night, they had a showdown with the Abbotsford Hawks and defeated them 3-0. Goal scorers were, Cam Seto, Pasco and Harper....1997 born goaltender McBride had the shutout. BWC is rolling at 5-0, outscoring the opposition 37-5.

From Monday night, Seafair was able to get back on the winning side of things with a 6-1 victory over Chilliwack. Seafair is now 5-1 with there only league loss coming to BWC 11-1 back on Saturday night. Interesting to note that Austin Adamson is the Seafair leading scorer through 6 league games with 6-1-7, ahead of highly touted Tyler Sandhu and Alec Dawydiak who both have 5 points this year only. Interesting to note that there were a couple fights in the Seafair/Chilliwack game, we'll see what comes of that.

Also from Monday, NSWC was able to win there 2nd straight game with a 5-4 victory over Cloverdale. I think Cloverdale and Abbotsford have to be a bit upset with there starts so far this year. Both were expected to perhaps challenge BWC a bit this year but it doesn't look like that will happen in the end. Even Seafair, who ae 5-1-0 got thumped by BWC as mentioned earlier.

.................................

Taking a look at the AMBHL and some of the top scorers today, we see Tanner MacMaster leading the way with 35 goals and 62 points in just 18 games. Tanner also has 55 pims which means he must've gotten into a tussle somewhere along the way! Tanner's 35 goals gives him a 10 goal lead over Cavin Leth of Lethbridge and his linemate Brayden Point who both have 25 goals (I'm sure you could've done that math)! Brayden Point continues to lead the Assist category with 34, which is 7 more than Airdrie forward Tyler Wong and his linemate Tanner MacMaster.

The rookie or shall I say 97 born scoring leader is SSAC Southgate forward Giorgio Estephan with 14-20-34 in just 18 games. He also has 2 GWG to his credit. The 5'9 145lb Estephan is expected to be a very high selection in the 2012 bantam draft. He has opened up a 9 point lead over Nick Merkley who has 13-12-25 for the Calgary Bisons.

If you want a clutch player, look no further than Brett Pollock of Sherwood Park and Mackenzie Bauer of Airdrie. They both have 5 GWG which leads the league. In fact, pretty much half of Pollocks 11 goals have been GWG and he has scored half of Sherwood Park's 10 GWG!

Finally, Brycen Martin leads all defenceman in scoring with 1-19-20 points in 17 games. Martin has a chance to be selected in the 1st round of the draft this season.

.................................

In Saskatchewan, the CFHL was off for the night as was the SSBHL. So just the GSHL saw some action and it was the Saskatoon Outlaws falling to the Martinsville Marauders 6-3 in Martinsville. Kobe Kindrachuk had a goal and an assist for the Outlaws while Kolten Olynek had a pair of assists. Mitchell Canaday allowed all 6 goals for the Outlaws.

You really need to re evaluate Dambrovsky from BWC.From what I see,he is thier best player.Hard to believe he is not in top 15 on list.

Well, I will talk to my team as I always do before we adjust and put out the rankings. There is no doubt that Dombrovskiy has climbed but in to the top 15, could be a slight stretch at this point. He is having a good season is on he upswing.
