Saskatoon Tournament Day 1 re-cap
Division 1
Russell Rams 2-0-0
Saskatoon Outlaws 1-1-0
Swift Current Raiders 1-1-0
Tisdale Ramblers 0-2-0
As expected by many in attendance the Russell Rams are 2-0-0 having beat Saskatoon and Tisdale by a combined 18-7. Jayce Hawryluk has been an absolute force with a pair of 5 point games thus far to give him 5-5-10. Taylor and Travis Sanheim have also been a force for Russell, with Taylor having 4-3-7 and receiving MVP honours in the 2nd game. Rylee Zimmer is 3-5-8 for Russell. Look for them to make a serious run at the tournament championship.
Kolten Olynek has 5 goals in 2 games for the Outlaws.
Division 2
Saskatoon Bandits 2-0-0
Martinsville Marauders 1-1-0
Melville Millionaires 1-1-0
Melfort Mustangs 0-2-0
It looks as though the Saskatoon Bandits will be able to capture this division with a win over Melville tomorrow. Collin Shirley, who we fully expect to be selected in the top couple rounds of the draft is leading the way so far with 3-3-6, while is linemate Adam Santoro is 2-4-6. Santoro was given the MVP honours in game 2. Both kids are playing well.
For Martinsville, Austin Glover really continues to impress with 2-5-7 so far in 2 games. For Melville, Dylan Bear and Jaden Kreklewich each had 6 points. Bear has 6 assists, while Kreklewich has 4 goals. 97 born Rykr Cole, who we have highly ranked for 2012 has 3 goals. Lastly, for Melfort, of note Rylan Freed has 2 points in 2 games. Freed should go in the top 4 rounds.
Division 3
Weyburn Redwings 2-0-0
Saskatoon Generals 1-1-0
Saskatoon Stallions 1-1-0
Meadow Lake Stamps 0-2-0
The Weyburn Redwings are really piling up the goals in this Division with 14-0 and 4-2 wins. The 14-0 games was vs. Meadow Lake who also lost 10-2 to the Saskatoon Stallions. For Weyburn, they are getting a fairly balanced attack at the top with Nicholas Pouliot and Trey Tendler leading the way with 7 pts each. Tendler has 5 goals. 97 born players Nagy and Carleton each have 4 points.
For the Saskatoon Stallions it is skilled forward Rourke Chartier leading the way with 4-4-8, including a 6 point game vs. Meadow Lake. Joshua Bly also has 4 goals for the Stallions. For the Generals, David Sheppard continues to lead the way with 4-1-5 but Vukie Mpofu and Ben Verrall have been huge forces on defence when out there for the Generals.
Division 4
Saskatoon Maniacs 2-0-0
Warman Wildcats 1-1-0
Saskatoon Frostbite 1-1-0
Unity Lazers 0-2-0
The Saskatoon Maniacs handled the Warman Wilcats tonight 5-1 to capture the pool and a likely semi-final showdown with the Weyburn Redwings. For the deep, balanced Maniacs, Southem and Leedahl each have 3 goals and 4 pts while 97 born Jimmy Lambert leads the way with 5 points so far. Connor Swystun has been one of the better dmen in the tournament so far.
A couple small sized forwards continue to lead the way for the Frostbite as they have all year long. Jesse Shynkaruk has 3-4-7 and has shown tremendous skill in both games viewed. His 97 born line-mate Cameron Hebig has shown very well thus far as well. Keifer Heintz and Spencer Bast have shown well for Unity so far.
Stay tuned for more tomorrow and perhaps a couple player comments.

Over at the Burnaby Christmas Tournament, Congratulations to the BWC Bruins who defeated the Kamloops Jardine Blazers 4-3 in what was said to be a 10 round shoot-out. An unlikely source in Johnny McPherson scored the shoot-out winner. Earlier in the tournament the Blazers and Bruins also tied 1-1. A pair of great games between two of the best in western Canada. Seafair was able to capture the bronze medal game with a 10-3 win over Cloverdale.
