Kamloops first league loss...goalie scores in the ambhl

The Kamloops Jardine Blazers suffored their first league play loss over the weekend with a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Kelowna Jr. Rockets. Josh Blanchard scored 3 times for Kelowna in the win, while Chad Butcher replied with a goal and 2 assists for Kamloops. Then yesterday, Kamloops was able to get back on track with a 4-3 win over POE. Matthew Murray scored the GWG with just 4 seconds left on the clock and also added an assist. Chad Butcher had a strong game once again with 2 goals and 1 assist. Ryan Gropp has been held to just 2 pts in his past 3 games.

In the AMBHL over the weekend, 1997 born goalie Brody Dirk scored a goal! Glove hand, top shelf, I'm told! Not really, but interesting nonetheless. This happened as the Red Deer Rebels Black tied Spruce Grove 4-4. Spruce Grove is now winless in their past couple games. The Rebels Black were shutout the previous day 2-0 at the hands of Airdrie. Dirk was held off the scoresheet in this one. However, the Airdrie goalie Malcolm Walilko turned aside 14 shots for the goose egg. Other noteworthy events in the AMBHL was the Calgary Royals defeating Medicine Hat 7-4, in that game Carson Pickett scored all 4 goals for Medicine Hat giving him 16 on the season. In case you were wondering, the Calgary Bisons and their two big guns were in action once again over the weekend winning 5-4 over Red Deer White. Ty Mappin continued his steller season with a goal and 2 assists. The Bisons two big guns were relatively quiet with Point picking up a goal and an assists, his goal though was the GWG. Tanner MacMaster had just 1 assist. It should be noted that Alex Mowbray is giving the Bisons some secondary scoring as of late with 6 goals in his past two games. Mowbray now has 17 goals and 29 points in 19 games. He has been flanked by big Landon Welykholowa and 97 born forward Nick Merkley.

Something a bit different to look at this morning, the penalty minute leaders. Yes, they deserve recognition as well! In the AMBHL, Toby Shattler leads the parade with 93pims in 18 games. Shattler has also been able to put up a few points despite his time in the box with 5-4-9. He is followed closely by 6'0 160lb Trevor Posch who has 90pims in 18 games. Cavin Leth, the AMBHL modern day Rick Tocchet I guess you could say, has 86pims in 20 games but also has 25 goals so far!

A look over at the SSBHL, we see Dallas Eldstrom with 88pims in just 9 games! Eldstrom is a defenceman from Moose Jaw.

Does anybody have details on what happend to connor bleakley?

Mowbray has scored his goals playing with Point and MacMaster not with the the Merkley line since playing with Point and MacMaster Mowbrays scoring and it seems MacMaster goal scoring has cooled off. Connor Bleakley will be a Major loss to okotooks he is a major talent.

Mowbray has played with both units. He has seen time as well with Merkley. Welykolowa has seen time with Point and MacMaster too.

Mowbray has played with Point/MacMaster quite a bit, 22 of his points have come with Point & MacMaster while he has 7 points with other lines.
Mowbray has alot of potential, he is not playing do it. Possibly over hyped as he use to be a very big body in atom and peewee, he was a power house. The gap has closed quite a bit, still quite effective, Jr A will be a better approach, as far as his size goes he qill not get much bigger. To make a jump to the next level really needs to focus on his skating.
