Saturday night blowouts

Starting off in the SSBHL, the Weyburn Crescent Point Redwings had their way with the Melville Millionaires 18-3. Nicholas Pouliot, the brother of WHL 1st overall selection Derrick Pouliot had a huge night with 5 goals and 2 assists. Pouliot now has a league leading 16 goals in 10 games. Lucas Cole had 3-2-5 and highly touted 97 born prospect Regan Nagy had a 5 point night. For melville, Jaden Kreklewich had 2 goals in the defeat while 97 born first round candidate for next year, Ethan Bear had a pair of helpers.

From Friday night, the Notre Dame Hounds once again showed no mercy defeating Moose Jaw 12-0. Ben Dupereault had a 4 point, Blake Penner had 3 points and Carter Diederich had a trick for the Hounds.

In the Centre Four Hockey League, the Prince Albert Pirates defeated West Central 22-4. Scorers and player stats will be posted later. Also in the CFHL, Melfort defeated Unity 5-3, Rylan Freed had 3 goals and 1 assist. Humboldt defeated Battleford 7-0, this coming after a 7-5 win in Meadow Lake the night before.

Finally in the GSHL, the Saskatoon Outlaws got 2 goals from Kolten Olynek, giving him 31 goals on the season en route to a 2-2 with the Saskatoon Maniacs. Both the Maniacs and Outlaws are tied for the league lead with 15 points, 3 points ahead of the Saskatoon Generals. In other GSHL action, the Martinsville Marauders beat the Saskatoon Stallions 4-1. The Stallions have just 1 victory in 10 league games so far this season and have scored a league low 31 goals.

........................

Is anyone going to be able to knock off the BWC in league play this season? Last night, they crushed the hopes of the Seafair Islanders with an 11-1 victory, allowing just 14 shots in the process. Defenceman Victor Dombrovskiy scored 3 times and forward Chris Seto also scored 3 times in the victory. Cam seto chipped in with a pair of goals as well. In other action the NSWC was able to pick up their first victory of the season, they are now 1-3. They defeated Chilliwack by a score of 5-1.

....................

A quick look over at the Calgary AA bantam league now. The Calgary AA Rangers beat the Calgary AA Blazers 10-5. A pair of highly touted 97 born players led the way for the Rangers in Braylan Shmyr and Keillan Olson. Each player had 5 point games with Shmyr scoring 3 times and Olson twice. Olson now has 9 points in his past 2 games. Shmyr is running away with the scoring lead at 21-15-36 in just 18 games. He is an AP player with the Calgary Bisons.

Interesting to have Melfort vs Unity's 5 to 3 game under "Saturday night blowouts"; that score hardly indicates a "blow-out". Also no mention of the win Unity had over Melfort Friday night. I think Unity proved to be somewhat of a surprise to the Melfort team.

Anonymous,

I am always open to suggestions as what people would like to see more on the site. I will definitely take all suggestions seriously and do my best to re-cap what people want to read about.
The newsletter does interview kids from the top to kids who may or may not get drafted.
Usually the blog entries are reserved for highlights that may have taken place from the previous day or two. However, in saying that, more could be added if you or others have some ideas.

take care
