Friday....Winnipeg Hawks star shines

Over in the Winnipeg Bantam AAA league, the Winnipeg Hawks ran their record to 14-0-1-1 with an impressive 7-0 victory over the 3rd place Winnipeg Monarchs. The Hawks have now scored 115 goals in 16 league games or just over 7 gpg. Adam Brooks led the way for the Hawks with 2 goals and 2 assists. Brooks now has 31 goals and 50 points in 16 games. Dallas Starodub scored a pair of goals, giving him 16. Dane Schioler picked up 3 more assists, he now has 27 assists which is 8 more than the 2nd place Brooks.

Earlier in the week, Adam Brooks was a Midget call-up for the Midget Hawks and he scored a SH goal to force OT and later a Shoot-out. Brooks also scored in the shoot-out.

...............................................

A couple results in from the PCAHA Flight 1 yesterday:

Abbotsford 4 - Chilliwack 4

-Abbotsford is in 3rd place at 5-2-1

-Chilliwack is in 6th at 2-4-3

Seafair 5 - Semiahmoo 0

-Seafair is in 2nd place at 6-2-1

-Semiahmoo is in 6th at 2-4-3

Now a quick look at Flight 2 which has 13 teams.

Ridge Meadows 6-2-2 34-26

Mission 6-0-2 40-16

South Delta 6-1-1 45-9

Aldergrove 5-2-3 42-30

South Delta seems to be totally dominating this group, after going 0-7-1 in the tiering portion of play earlier this year. Although in tiering, the most goals they gave up in a game was just 5 and they had three 1 goal losses and lost just 4-1 to BWC. Now in flight 2, they have won 5 of 6 games by 5 goals or more. South Delta has only allowed 9 goals in 8 games. Finally from flight 2, it is interesting to note that the only team without a loss is Mission at 6-0-2, Mission came out of tiering in group 3 where they went 7-0-1. That is now 16 games without a loss for Mission who are led by 1st round projected prospect Landyn Hickmott.

A quick look over to the Peewee league in flight 1 we see BWC at 7-0-0 while allowing just 7 goals, BWC also went 8-0-0 in tiering, and NSWC at 5-0-2 allowing just 5 goals so far this year. Langley and Abbotsford are also have to great starts at 7-1-1 and 7-3-0 respectively. Langley is averaging nearly 6 gpg which leads the league. They have cracked the 10 goal mark 3 times already this year. At the other end of the spectrum the defensive minded NSWC have 4 shut-outs in 7 games.
