Gawdin is a machine....he is the most underrated player of the 97 class...brings the entire package....scoring, skating, great at both ends of the rink and can deliver punishing checks...
I agree with you in that he has a full skill set. However I will disagree in you sayimg that he is "underrated". WEHP has him ranked in the 10-15 range for the first round and has climbed all year on their rankings. Pretty appropriate if you ask me.
Way to go Seafair!
Gawdin must have stood on his head, But where was the rest of the team? He scores half of the goals. Great for him. Talk about carrying a team?
POE 4-3 over Abbey. Were they missing players? None of this matters until March. Good luck all.
Just means that Gawdin scored or assisted on 23 of 29 goals for the team, but he's not the whole team. There are plenty of talented players on this team that need to get credit. The great thing about Gawdin is that he makes player around him better and this team proved that they can complete with the big boys. Look out.
Gawdin did what he knew he need to do .... and yes he works in all three area's. He now seems to be learn to play 'packing' opposition players around on his back. His development is coming nicely.
Cloverdale vs. NSWC tonight. Gonna be a great Game, After what NSWC did to Cloverdale last outing 10-1. Anyone know's who his in net for cloverdale ?
POE ,SEAFAIR, game shots where 53 - 20 for POE, this game could have been 6-2 poe , give some love to goalie, plus aleast 3 posts
Woolfenden is way overrated. Seattle losses were by average of 5 goals. His plus/minus must have been horrendous with as much playing time that he got. All star award for the team is quite a surprise as there were definitely a couple players (not as high profile) that deserved the award.
2 great games POE vs Seafair! 2-1 in overtime(loss)
POE vs Abbey! 4-3 in overtime(win).
Thats great hockey.
Cheema is in net for Cloverdale tonight, I think because Maggio played against BWC in their last game
Yes Abbotsford and Seafair played very well against POE. The games were very close and Abbotsford's top players played amazing.
It won't matter who is in net for Cloverdale. The game is at NSWC and the referring will be one sided.
Probably 5/6- 1 for NSWC
NSWC won 5-3 over Cloverdale. The Colts were leading 3-2 at one point.
Not quite the same outcome as before, either Cloverdale is getting together or NSWC is maybe getting alittle tired. They have many games in a row.
Refs at NSWC lets see this game at Clover on a smaller ice. POE just in a valley, I dont think they took Seafair to serious, it happens, Abbey woke up!!!! good for them.
PCAHA games are misleading as the games are generally 15 minute periods in a 1.5 hour ice slot.
They should make it manadatory to play 3 full 20 minute periods.
You are correct (12:42) they should be.
It depends on the rinks Some are 3x20min with a ice clean. while others are 2x15 then 1/2 of what is left.
Agree they should all be the same 1.5 hour slots. I heard seafair against some other team was 40 min total which is just wrong , this is not H2 boys.
I would say Gawdin is similar to BWC's 97 superstar being sent out every second shift as a center and contributing immensley. The real difference is Gawdin can man handle his way through the entire tournament playing against all the top ranked D and forwards from the top ranked Tier 1 teams that participated in this AAA tournament (POE, Calgary Royals, Abbotsford, Seattle) and Gawdin stayed healthy (this boys game got tougher and better as we tried to shut him down).
I would also like to send out a huge congrats to Seafairs two goalies who were equally rotated throughout this tournament.
These goalies Letrace and Toyoda sure raised many eyebrows and questions as to where these boys came from?
Also, Seafairs roster for the tournament contained seven first year players, this could contribute to Seafair remaining a top 10 contender for the following season ?
Congrats to Seafair, we wish you boys all the best in the rest of your season and hope to play you again sometime.
Godwin did not stand out in poe game.He did not manhandle thier d at all.Thier goalie was by far the best player stopping 52 shots.Poe controlled most the game .If it werent for Poe tiring out some horses, could have been a diferrent game.Still, heavy congrats to seafair.
Seafair plays NSWC on friday night in Seafair, the ice slot is 1.15 hoursthey will be lucky to get a ten minute 3rd period.
Seafair coach will make line change every whistle to slow down the play and stall game.
I think Seafair, BWC and NSWC all have home games sat nights, the Friday slot is an alternate. It may help Seafair (if they can stay close) but it's not a planned thing.
Seafair should be higher than Cloverdale and Semi
