Sherwood Park 3 - Edmonton MLAC 2
The AMBHL is the lone league which has its regular season underway, and there was one game last night featuring Sherwood Park and Edmonton MLAC.  Both teams had subpar seasons in 2010-2011 but Sherwood Park looks to have a good foundation of  defenseman in Brendan Guhle, Jordan Boulton and Cameron Reagan.  It was that defense on Tuesday night that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 opening game victory for the Flyers.  Scoring for Sherwood Park were Grayson Pawlenchuk with 2 goals and Cameron Reagan with a single.

Sherwood Park does have the chance to surprise a few people this year with that core of defense and solid depth scoring including a pair of 98's in Sam Steel and Skyler Mckenzie.  Both Steel and Mckenzie were held off the score sheet in this game though.

In B.C., the Kamloops Jardine Blazers held a four game exhibition series over the weekend.  Teams that took part were:  Prince George, Kelowna and Vernon.  The Jardine Blazers went 3-0-1 in those games which included a 5-1 win over Vernon, 2-1 over Prince George and a 1-1 tie against Kelowna.  In the final, the Jardine Blazers defeated Prince George 6-4 with Addison Bazien scoring 4-1-5, Nicholas Chyzowski with 1-3-4 along with Dexter Robinson drawing 3 helpers.  Josh Shank and Bailey Depalma split goaltending duties throughout the weekend.

Scoring for MLAC were Anthony Sirianni and Justin Haukenfrers.  The star of the game for MLAC though as to be goaltender Eden Sharp who stopped 53/56 shots shots he faced!
