In Okotoks, the Oilers and Lethbridge did battle in a game of sub .500 teams. The Goldenhawks are destined for the playoffs, while Okotoks will finish last in the all Calgary division. On this day, Okotoks got 2-1-3 from first round candidate Conner Bleackley. Bleackley now has 36-29-65 and has 31 more points than anyone else on his team. Markson Bechtold who is 2nd in team scoring scored his 16th and added a helper in the win. Lethbridge, who has been without one of their best players all year long in Brendon Benson, got 1-1-2 from Zachary Wall. Wall has 3 goals in 16 games this season.
In Lloydminster, the Leduc Allen's Transport squad travelled to Lloyd in hope of putting a strangle hold on top spot in the Charger North over Spruce Grove. However, they fell to Lloydminster 7-6 and remain just 1 point up on Spruce Grove with both teams having 2 games remaining. Lloydminster led 6-2 after 40 minutes and 7-3 midway through the 3rd but hung on for the win. Lloydminster got goals from 7 different players. For Leduc, team scoring leader Liam Gregor scored his 28th and 29th goals of the season and added an assist. Gregor now has 65 points. Evan Polei scored twice as well giving him 14 goals this season.

The Winnipeg Bantam AAA league had some interesting results from over the weekend including Brandon winning their 2nd game of the season in a 5-4 upset over the Winnipeg Monarchs. For Brandon, Brett Kitt scored 4 times in leading his team to the victory. Kitt now has 15-11-26 in 26 games this season to lead his team in points by 11 over the next player. Ryan Hutton and Xander Tachinski each had 2 points for the Monarchs. The Monarchs remain 1 point back of the Winnipeg Warriors for 3rd and the chance to avoid playing the powerful Hawks in round 1.
Speaking of those powerful Hawks, they lost to the 2nd place Winnipeg Sharks 3-2 over the weekend. Adam Brooks was able to score his league leading 45th goal of the season in a losing cause for the Hawks. For the Sharks, Miller, Rybuck and Lindgren all scored. The Sharks are 4 points back of the Hawks for first place but the Hawks hold 2 games in hand.
The Sharks were able to continue their winning way on Sunday in defeating the last place Brandon squad 9-3. 1997 born star, Dallas Miller scored 4 goals and added an assist. Miller now has 31 goals, which has in comfortably in 2nd place in the league goal scoring parade. Brett Kitt scored 2 more goals for Brandon, giving him 6 goals for the weekend.

In the SSBHL, the Swift Current Kubos Raiders scored 9 times en route to a 9-3 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors. Swift Current improved their record to 12-5-2 and sit 5 points behind first place Weyburn. The Warriors are 4-14-1. For Swift Current, Tim Vanstone who is the league scoring leader had 3-3-6, giving him 25 goals. Jordan Wittman also picked up 3 goals in the victory. Wittman now has 25 goals as well. Both players are tied for 2nd in goal scoring race, just one behind leader Nicholas Pouliot. Moose Jaw scoring leader Rhett Gardner had 1-1-2. Gardner now has 20-12-32 and has scored 33% of Moose Jaw's goals.
In Weyburn, the Redwings defeated the 4-9-4 Melville Millionaires 9-1 to keep their first place standing. Trey Tendler had a huge game with 3-3-6. He now has 24-22-46 and is just one point back of team-mate Nicholas Pouliot who had 2-2-4 in this one. Weyburn is 15-4-1 and sit in first place, 3 points ahead of Balgonie. However, Balgonie who is at 13-1-2 hold 4 games in hand.

Leduc is very talented, but as a team very undisciplined. If that does not change very soon they will not get out of the first round of playoffs.

Mr. WEHP, given your obvious involvement in the gathering of information for this, is your opinion of westerns results consistent with your rankings? In other words do you predict that BWC will win Westerns in a final game against Kamloops?
BWC can't play Kamloops in the Finals in the Westerns. That is 100% impossible....

Might be an upset or two in the other 5 playoff games but the winners of these other 3 games will probably not have a chance vs the top 3... BWC, Abby, Seafair.

Camrose kodiaks are 8-4 in their last 12 with their last 3 losses agaianst Leduc, SSAC and St. Albert all by 1 goal. If Leduc can not get it together there is a good chance for an upset in the first round regardless who they play. Scoring coming from multiple players and solid goal tending. They are a legitimite dark horse for the play-offs.
BWC has their hands full coming out of their province. I would have Kamloops ranked #1 over BWC, they have proven themselves at the big tournaments
Leduc had a couple bad undisciplined penalties but out shot Lloyd 39-29 so goaltending was an issue as well Leduc missed a penalty shot in the second and had a goal called on them which clearly hit the post as the ref later apoligized for his missed call at the start of the 3rd. They deserved at least a tie.
6.23PM. I am not a Leduc parent. I have seen Leduc enough including the St. Albert tournament to see that Leduc is undisciplined defensively, and have no team concept on defense. Add to the fact they take way to many penalties. This will be a major problem once playoffs start. I did not see Leduc vs Lloyd so I can't comment on how your goalie played, BUT your goaltending is not the issue, infact Leduc has one of the best goalies in the league, but when a team gives up odd man rush after odd man rush, and be short handed all the time, there is only so many pucks the goalie can keep out of the net. That kind of hockey will not get it done come playoffs. Good Luck!!!!!

Ya, whatever... You might want to recheck your record against BWC. You guys have only ever beat them once! And you know why that was in St. Albert. The goalie had a bad game and you were badly outplayed in the first period- not to mention outshot by quite a margin.
I am starting to think that hockey parents are all the same. Key in on what their kid/team is good at and call it the defining characteristic of a champion kid/team...It is just hockey...
Who really cares who's ranked where.all that matters is who is able to win at provincials to come out out of bc.each game they play once it's over doesn't mean anything when they meet again .iwas the 4-0 score indicative of the game.no and if you think 1-0 after 2 wAsn't close they you better think again.it will be a dog fight that much is guaranteed.the teams always play an entertaining game and it will be the same should they meet again .odds are they will but don't overlook anybody else such as Abby seafair melisma westside to possibly knock out either of these two teams.good luck to both teams in their quests to reach westerns.

All we know is that all of these teams must play a couple of teams before they get to the final 4 and provincials. Likely BWC, Seafair, Abby, with either Cloverdale or Hollyburn going forward but anything can happen and if the games go as they should in the 1 to 16 series, then in the 1 to 8 series Seafair/Langley and Abby/Surrey will be decent battles, as will Cloverdale/Hollyburn. Have to give the edge to BWC over NSWC but again both play tight Winter Club games so a hot goalie and you never know!
to the last comment: None of these teams are gauraunteed yet. hollyburn i believe is playing ridge meadows, a very physical team, hollyburn does not fare well with physical teams. South delta andCloverdale played a close game last time they played and south delta and langley, who knows? Chilliwack also could hand surrey and early exit.
kamloops beat notre dame by a goal who beat BWC by a goal. Mathematically, kamloops is better in that game. you could perhaps call the game at xmas a tie as the shootout went like 13 rounds. The 4-0 loss was a matter of kamloops scoring and BWC not. Basically, BWC has so much depth, but kamloops is a powerhouse. Perhaps the 2 most evenly matched teams in western canada. Both very good, they also tied 1-1 in Xmas round robin, proving that they are even. Forget SOG and who carried the play, what matters is the score board, and we've seen pretty much equal results every game.
How did the Surrey and chilliwack game go???
holy cruds, surrey and chilliwack played the most physical game of the year. Final score was 2-0 surrey, but both sides had to have like atleast 60 hits. Surrey facing some injury problems now as they're without frisen for 6 weeks with torn ligament. Meyer didnt play tonight. Very physical!
i thoght 21 for surrey and 2 for surrey stepped it up defensively, considering they had like 3 for half the game. Savage took a stick to the throat but returned 5 min. later. willcox got cheapshoted hit from behind twice. he had a goal, an assist and like 2 half fights, so basically a gordie howe hatrick! Frisen is out for while though. They also had no meyer. Shots were 29-28 for chilliwack. VERY PHYSICAL!!
That will be Surey's last win of the playoffs, then will go out to Abby in next round.

i think they'll get sefair, 1 one of the other top 8 will probably loose. Due to injuries, surrey's chance ahs decreased. But just cuz its abby, don't count em out as surrey lost 6-4, 5-4 and won 3-2 vs. them. It dpends, surrrey has 2 weeks of practise now and time to recover from injuries, etc.
I will be glad when Surrey is out so we don't have to read about them in every thread--their parents hang on it sooo much

people are talking about them only cause they were the first real playoff game of the PCAHA......People from Bc could being saying the same about us alberta parents who talk about the ambhl all day. You can't complain at all.
