Bisons just too much for Royals. Duke scored his only 2 goals of playoffs in Game 3 when they were already down 6-0. Tough way to go out, but Bisons have FAR more chemistry. They should beat RD white easily.
Leduc vsSSAC series should be a battle!! Both teams have strong D and F that can put it in the net, I think that SSAC has the edge in goal with Papirney.
Red Deer Black brought down to earth...a team with that many 97's of that caliber (I said mediocre in a previous post and some took exception to it---sorry but it is true) and an underage who is in no way dominant at this level and only plays at this level because of living in a particularly week part of the province, had absolutely no chance to play Cinderella for a second round...Airdrie gave them no respect but White has too much class to do that and plays a team game unlike Airdrie....good job White in making southern Alberta finals I think you can make it a series against Calgary if you get some bounces...one question---if Red Deer drafts these teams and therefore should be somewhat equal, why does 1 team have all 96's and the other 5 97's and a 98??!!
Its actually Leduc vs Southside, you put St Albert
Royals have the first rounder that doesnt get it done and the Bisons have a second or third rounder that always gets it done. Its been that way for ever but hes too small.
wow
I hope you and your family enjoyed your trip. Wpg series is 7 games. 6-1 for Hawks over Monarchs and 6-2 Sharks over Warriors last night.
As mentioned before Spruce Groves goaltending was the issue, both games it was a big factor. In first game 3 goals in the first 6 min.(pulled)same goalie came in the second game in relief gave up 2 goals on 4 shots (series total 5 goals on 13 shots). In the second game the starter allowed 4 goals on 13 shots the reliever allowed 2 goals on 4 shots for agame total of 6 goals on 17 shots!!!!Spruce Grove outshot Leduc 36-17 in the game.In the last 30 min Leduc had 4 shots on goal . Leduc won fair and square but I do believe from the net out Spruce is a better team.(non parent observer )
It's too bad you bloggers don't put your names to comments, you should grow a set!Red Deer White should be congradulated for beating Black.Who cares about 96's ,97's or 98's they outplayed Black in every part of the game.As for those who wanted to see Mappin vs Sveisen there was no contest with Ty's value to White far surpassing Jaeden's value to Black.Hat's off to Black for upsetting the division leaders in the first round you can hold your heads high.Good luck to White in the next round against Calgary who better not think that this will be a walk or they could be in for a rude awakening.
Kamloops only beat Kelowna 2-0. Was 1-0 until late third. Very tight game.
so is kelowna done then? ---don't know where they are in their series or if they only play a single knockout--thanks in advance
Kelowna played very well and showed a high level of compete the entire game...hats off to their kids and coaches.
8.53 AM. I wont argue the fact Spruce's Goalies are weak, but the fact of the matter Leduc went 5-1 against Spruce this year with the only loss a 2-1 game. Last I checked the goalie is part of the team. Leduc's goalie played great and Spruce's didn't.That was the difference.
Kamloops vs Kelowna: Sounds like a BWC vs NSWC score.. anyone's game... Kelowna hosts Kamloops on Friday for Game #2 in the three game series.
Good Luck to all -
1:05 In the 2 games vs Sp. Grove Leduc's save % was .892 which is good not great. SSAC is about .940 so Leduc's #s will have to get better. Still should be a great series, hope to catch some of it.
NSWC was very close to beating BWC in game 1, played bad in game 2 though.
I agree with Charlie, the Blacks were not the only team with 6 st yrs players, but they were the only team to make the playoffs and out a # 1 team. lets give these players some credit, shame on you. and yes white can you beat the bison , heck even the black beat them once .Work ethic will win this series,
Congrats to black on beating airdre... But looks like they didnt show up for the 2nd series.... Some notables from Black are Houston with 30 points this season and 6 in the playoffs! This kid has came along way from the start of the year!
