The Spruce Grove PAC Saints got back to the winning ways Sunday afternoon with a 7-2 win over the now 3-28-0 Grand Prairie Storm. Spruce Grove is now just 1 point back of Leduc in the Charger North division but Leduc has a game in hand. The Saints fired 55 shots at Grand Prairie goalie Jayden La Valley in the win. Grand Prairie forward Tanner Kostiuk-Paquette received a match penalty in the 3rd period of this one. Gage Joel had 2 goals for Spruce Grove, giving him 9 on the season. Jason Miller picked up his 20th goal and added 2 assists, giving him 40 points this season. Defenseman Nicholas Koberstein had 1-1-2, he now has 22 points in 26 games.
The Calgary Royals will have to settle for 2nd place in the Challenger South as they tied Red Deer Black 3-3 Sunday. The 1 point gives the Royals 44 points which is 5 back of the Calgary Bisons but the Royals have just 2 games left. Red Deer Black has a 4 point lead for the 4th and final playoff spot over Medicine Hat in the Ram South. Medicine Hat has 2 games in hand. However, Medicine Hat still has games left against the Bisons and Airdrie. Leading the way for the Royals today was Reid Duke with a pair of assists. Duke is 9th in league scoring with 28-33-61 in 28 games. Duke also has 73 pims.
In the CFHL today, it was Humboldt getting 5 goals from Reid Gardiner to give him 42 goals in 21 games this season in a 6-6 tie against Melfort. The win moves Humboldt 2 points ahead of 3rd place Warman in the league standings. Warman does have 2 games in hand. Melfort got 1-2-3 from Rylan Freed. Freed is in the top 5 in scoring and his 36 goals are 23 more than his next closest team-mate in 97 born Caleb Seaman who has 13 goals. Gardiner's 42 goals are 17 more than his next closest team-mate Austin Dyok who has 25.
Prince Albert Venice House Pirates have defeated Warman today in game 2 of a best of 3 league provincial rep final. More to come on this later or tomorrow.

BC hcokey rankings: Cloverdale is 12th, big surprise, kamloops, BWC, POE, abby sefair, surrey, langley are top 7. Surrey tied Semiahmoo 2-2 today who is ranked 18th, but were missing 5 players.
PCAHA Final Standings
BWC 20-0-0
Abby 15-3-2
Seafair 13-5-2
Hollyburn 5-9-6
Cloverdale 10-9-1
Langley 9-11-0
Surrey 6-11-3
NSWC 6-12-2
Langley final 7 games 5 wins 2 losses. Cloverdale final 6 games 5 wins 1 loss. Langley and Cloverdale seem to be getting ready for playoffs. Hollyburn gets 4th with only 5 wins in 20 games but lots of Sportsmanship points. Crazy system. Could be a few surprises in playoffs.
Is this hockey or a school inturmural kick ball league sportsman ship points your kidding right.I am all for teams that play with class but lets face it, you have to play on the edge to be at your best.I think that this is a great example of people over thinking things to make a few happy.Whats next points for trying real hard what a joke!
BWC... Gratz on winning the regular season banner.
PCAHA Sportsmanship points are a joke but so is how the league is run. Cant wait for those single elimination games...1 vs 16..then the hosted final 4`s.. What is wrong with best of 3 series? and why is everyone in the playoffs? Let the top 8-12 in each category have real playoffs and everyone else can start in the Presidents Cup. Any team seeded below 12 has no shot!! Waste of time.
Does everyone get a participation medal too. LMAO. That is why the AMBHL is the the best league with the most kids drafted.
Then in playoffs they get rid of the sporty point.
Single game knock out for top 16 teams.
Then 4 point series, no OT first team to 4 points.
Then the last 4 play a round robin and top 2 go to provinicials.
Plus the games are 3 15 minute periods. And the 3rd period could be less than 15 as some teams only have 1.25 hours ice time.
Only team with 3 20 minute periods is BWC
Since BWC is hosting final four, are the games going to be 3 twenty minute periods? Also i hear Abbotsford plus the top two besides Abbotsford all go to the provincials so if Abby makes the final four then three of the four teams go to provincials.
Funny thing, if the better team wins all the single game series, then fifth place Cloverdale gets to play the team with the least wins and the two winter clubs meet before the final four.
1 29 PM for the most part, you are correct, but north delta got knocked out by 15th seed last year with tristan jaary in net, atwal, hanoun and forster were playing. you never know
9:38 but how did the #15 seed do after that one game miracle? Crushed next round and out! No chance for a high seed to make final 4 and definitely no chance they would be competitive if they did.
9 55 AM you are correct. The # 15 seed will never win after lets say, a one game miracle. but the way they have it set up is so that 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 all the way to 8 vs. 9. Basically 8 vs. 9 is going to be a very close knockout game, but is the eight place team really going to win the final four? No. Surrey finished 7th, and abby vs. surrey imho, is going to be the best 4 point series. Langley and Sefair will go down to the wire as the 2 teams have had close results all season except for 1 game i think. Never ever any gaurantees. Even NSWC and BWC 4 point series could see losses for both sides, considering the 4-3 game in reg. season. interesting thoughts though.
comment 1, interesting cause i think semi is 11th or 12th in BC while cloverdale should remian 7th. Surrey - Semi was intereesting cause i thought semi would win with surrey missing frisen and blake and 3 others. Meyer and willcox were the only two that actually did anything upfront with willcox scoring off of a meyer forced turnover. #4 and #21 were solid on the back end as surrey went with 4 Dmen. Semi 2nd goal didnt look like it went in as meyer appeared to have pulled it out of the crease with puck still about 6 inches from the line. Interesting game, surrey's conditioning was sure tested!
