The new league would've consisted of a North and South division, similar to that of the AMBHL. However, with Saskatoon declining to joining the proposed "new league", there is no word at this time what will happen for the 2011-2012 season. Here is a link below that explains it in futher detail.

This will be interesting to see how SHA reacts. Reports are that Saskatoon teams will not be registered thus unable to take part in provincials and outside of province tournaments.
The decision of SMHA and Saskatoon parents has been a very selfish one, ultimately not thinking of the kids.
Sorry, I disgree. What is wanted is to reduce their aa teams from 6 down to 4, then also have more games than 6 teams are currently having, thus reducing the ice times available for the lower teams that in the end fill the AA team rosters. Exactly how do we make things better for the Saskatoon kids by holding them hostage to reducing their overall development of the number of players so that someone at SHA can have a nice big league. Obviously, there are people on both sides who don't know all the facts, but I am missing something when it is the SMHA/Saskatoon that is the problem. So, here we will hold you hostage and not allow you to play out of province tournaments, unable to participate in provincials. I am certain then that SMA's role is not for the kids.
