The WHL bantam draft is still eight months away, but two kids making a huge case for themselves to be noticed are Myles Warkentine and Ryan Duret from Prince Albert. Warkentine, whose family has relocated from Melfort has joined forces with rising star Ryan Duret to form a lethal 1-2 scoring punch that the Prince Albert Venice House Pirates will reap the benefits from this season.
A sneak peak at the two last night in a Midget hockey game against the Beardy's Black Hawks suggest that when they return to bantam hockey this season, that they are sure to wreak havoc on the rest of the Centre Four Hockey League. Warkentine scored a pair of goals in his first ever midget game and his line mate Ryan Duret chipped in with a pair of assists for the Prince Albert Mintos en route to a 5-0 pre-season victory.
The Mintos take to the ice once again tonight vs. the Saskatoon Blazers.
