Several young Canadian hockey players were over seas in the Czech Republic to take part in the Czech Challenge Cup, featuring teams and players from age groups 94-99. Brayden Point and his Canada Cowboys squad went undeafeted in the round robin portion of play posting a 5-0-1 record while out scoring their opposition 39-21. The young Cowboys faced teams from Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria and were joined by other fellow Canadian teams as well.
Brayden Point was dynamic in the tourament finishing with 16 goals and 5 assists in just 6 games. His 16 goals were 7 more than any other player in the tournament and his 21 points placed him 1st in scoring and 5 more points than Slovakian star defenceman Branislav Zwick.

Sounds like Brayden Point had a great tournament! I think he was playing as an overager ( it was a 97 tournament) with the Polar Bears Organization from Edmonton. These tournaments in Europe are usually good fun but not the most highly competitive tournaments. He's a great player, but feel the point totals should be put into perspective.

Your right on, Point is very good player; he will be a top 10 pick, no brainer. Hyping Point for playing on that team as an overaged kid is pointless.
scotty/big as on of the D-men on his line who a;so went to the tornament with him (Meshaq Tyson) we were not the polar bears we were the cowboys and he went in as a over age but we also went with three other teams witch were our 98 and 96 teams and both had overaged players just like our teams and lots think braydon was our team and he wasn't he was a part of our team and he wasnt there just for the hockey but he was there to be there and have fun like the rest of the team
Point was called to play on that cowboys team. He and his dad were given free trips from Calgary organization. They had tried to secure one of their existing players,even offering the player and his dad a free trip to Europe but the player no longer wanted to play for that organization any longer! That player ended up taking that spring off,working out a playing with the Jr. Flames this past spring. Now a bison and doing well.
