Where do you get your information from. St Albert would kick half those teams asses.
Sherwood park beat Lloydminister... How is it possible Lloyd moved up 2 spots
Sherwood Park beat Lloydminster.. How is it possible that they are not even on honorable mention and Lloyd moved up 2 spots
I was in Chilliwack and the fact that BWC defeated POE without having their top offensive player in the lineup should speak volumes about who has the better overall team. The top position should be between NSWC and BWC. POE has a terrific defence corps, probably the best in the West, but their forward group is not as deep as BWC or NSWC and the goaltending isn't close either. Don't understand how POE gets moved up to top billing when they lost the big game vs BWC. Other than that blip the list looks credible.
Cute - it's like the Chilliwack tournament never happened!!!
Does your son play on POE ?
Who won the Red Deer Bantam AAA Tournament on October 10, 2011? I heard Spruce Grove did.
I was also at the Chilliwack tournament, and POE had 11 penalties to BWC's 2. That is quite an advantage for a team to have, almost a whole period of powerplay time. I am sure that most of the teams at the tournament could have scored on POE given that much pp time. I believe BWC had 3 pp goals. So don't let the 4-2 score fool you, it was way closer than you think. I hope to see these teams square off more throughout the season, it was fun to watch.
Winnipeg Monarchs beat the Winnipeg Sharks!!!!
Here we go again with the BWC tears.
BWC is a good team, even with Barzal out of the line-up. NSWC competed hard and won! Good job NS. POE has good D and hard-working forwards. Played short-handed against BWC most of the game with two top forwards missing. Best of luck to all the teams - you are all deserving of the top spot!
Poe was with out 2 top 6 forwards in that game vs bwc, I would think those two kids would help , and barzal would help bwc , lots of games left to play
I think the list is very likely close. Chilliwack is just one w/e and single games. Lets try to think 7 game series here and see who comes out on top. I like POE against any of the teams on the list in that format...maybe POE doesn't have 18 min pk everytime they play BWC.
CAC and Winnapeg both have very good clubs that would do well against the list in a series format.
NSWC with their size,or lack there of, would find a series with POE a little long I think.
The fact this list was sent out on the 7th for the paid subscribers and the tournament didn't finish on the 10th. Is it safe to say the W.E.P.H. might change the ranking next issue?
POE has no depth on forward after averaging 8 goals a game in tournament.GAA 2.

Yes, Spruce Grove won the tourney down in Red Deer, beat the Bisons in the final.
Would put the Royals ahead of Med Hat, they are real solid...
Seems to have created quite the stir, lol. Also seems to have created excuses, tons of them both ways. Oh ya, did I mention tons of excuses.
Big test for Medicine Hat against Lloydminster this weekend, should give a little perspective on this list.
The POE goal average? The 16 to 0 whipping they put on the hosts certainly helped that average. The coaches obviously didn't read the tiebreaker rules that said that 5 was the max goal differential in a game. I wonder what the tournament committee thought about that game?
You can't really complain aboutthe list it'll never be 100% correct. For example last year Airdrie placeed like 7th in the John Reid and got swept first round of playoffs by a bad RD Black team. They were ranked 8th at the end of the year somehow. Where as RD White faired just as well in the John Reid, finished 2 points behind Airdrie in regular season, in the playoffs swept RD black and Lethbridge then lost out in the south finals. Got 0 credit from this site all year, they didn't make the top 15 or get 1 honorable mention...
All this talk about BC and Alberta teams every year when if you look at the stats over 30% of the kids drafted in the first 2 rounds played AA hockey in Saskatchewan, most of them playing for their hometown teams.
The teams will be ranked accordingly at the end of the season when it matters most. Right now this is all speculation.
2;27. you missed the point real easy.POe forwards have distinct pattern of scoring alot of goals. The BWC goalie made some very good athletic saves. He is their best player hands down.WEHP no re cap of tournies??
didnt nswc win chilliwak over bwc 2-0 how are they posted as 6th
The saskatchewan league is terrible this year. Manitoba isn't that strong either. Winnipeg sharks however could compete with Cac,or whoever albertas top team is for westerns. Bwc will make westerns just because with a full lineup there's no one out there that could beat them out and for saskatchewan the north east wolfpack the top team. Can not compete with those teams
6:11 you don't get it, you don't unnecessarily run up scores especially against a host team, it's extremely bad form and shows a lack of discipline and sportsmanship. Their was no advantage beyond a 5 goal differential. I watched the POE forwards and they are a very good group but the key strength to that team is certainly the D corps as they rarely allow scoring chances and can transition turnovers into an offensive rush very quickly. BWC and POE are very close no doubt and NSWC is also at this level. The next three BC teams are Semi, OHA and Clover. These are the six teams to watch going forward.
Question for October 14, 2011 6:07 AM - have you seen any Saskatchewan league games this year?
i don't think the scouts care which team is ranked higher or better than another. They are simply looking for a well rounded TEAM player with work ethic, skill, toughness and ability to learn. You find those kids playing on many different teams and different areas within our minor hockey systems.

It would make more sense to simply comment on your region, especially when you actually have no idea about, or seen, what teams are like from other areas.
I believe the comment on Northeast Wolfpack referred to the SBAAHL and not how they would do against teams from other regions, only Sask.
To truly see how they would fare against teams from other provinces they need to go to some of the big tournaments (MedHat or StAlbert for example).
If you look on the teamlink it has the official game stats fir the BWC and Poe game.
There were 11 minors for 22 minutes to Poe
There were 10 minors for 20 minutes to bwc
NSWC is the best in the west . All the returning players. Look for them to win medicine hat .
