October 10, 2011 newsletter is now ready
Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadian Readers!
Rankings
The season is now nicely underway in Alberta as the AMBHL season is just over two weeks old and we've had a chance to get out and watch some of the action. There have been some surprises as some players have hit growth spurts from last year and some of the 98 born players have really taken the league by storm early and each is factored in to the adjusted rankings.
There has now been action in both the North and South of the Saskatchewan SBAAHL which has brought some surprise and change to the rankings. The GSHL has gotten underway in Saskatoon which has given us our first look at the good talent in Saskatoon once again. Also the Chilliwack Bantam AAA tournament has opened our eyes to several players who have taken huge jumps in size and ability from last season.
So with that, we make several additions and some movement near the top and throughout the western Canada 97 and 98 lists. The Chicago showcase is underway this weekend and reports have been flooding in on several players who are performing well against some of the best competition in the United States.
Interviews
The Interview section is very interesting this time around with several good stories. I speak with a player who spent some time in Alaska, Saudi Arabia playing hockey and is now one of the top 98 born players in Alberta.
I speak a player from Manitoba who has had many family members play or coach in the NHL. He is an elite talent.
We speak with an Alberta born player who could very well be the next best 98 scorer after Jaeger White in the province.
I speak with a player from the United States who is taking his talents to Notre Dame Bantam AAA this season.
Finally, I speak with a talent from Saskatchewan who is making bigtime noise and should keep improving this season.
News and Notes
The Top 20 power rankings make its second appearance on the newsletter. We rank the preliminary teams to watch heading in to the 2011-2012 season.
Listed are the up coming tournaments this season across western Canada as well.

It seems that you have a great number of Airdrie Extreme players on your list. I believe they have the fourth or fifth most kids from any single team on lists, yet you never seem to rate them a top notch team! Just curious why?
Airdrie plays as individuals not a team. That is why there losing
Airdrie is 3-3-1. That places their 7 points 9th best in the league. That is JUST alberta. They may have a few good players, but they are not a top notch team. That may be the reason?
if they have the same coaching staff as last year thier in trouble. sorry but yes u need play as a team
Hear anything about Noah Turanski a 6 foot 1 defenceman from Vernon?
Yes I have.
Regarding know his skating ability isen't the gretest but he can hit he also has a great shot from the point
Regarding turanski he isen't the best skater he has a cannon from the point and hits solid
