BWC suffers blow
The BWC Bruins will be without one of their top players for an indefinite period of time to start the season after Adam Musil suffered a broken wrist. Musil joined the BWC after leaving South Delta where he played his rookie bantam season. Of course we also know that BWC lost Chris Seto to Cloverdale to join forces with fellow first round prospect Tyler Soy.

with Musil out of the line up for a while, it will be a huge impact to that Bantam AAA team, 1 or 2 key players cant keep the team a float for 60 minutes. Is it also true that almost 60 players have left the Burnaby Winter Club [various years] for this coming year, will they have enough kids to house only 2 bantam rep teams. I wonder if these turn overs are comon to these Winter Clubs
I think they will be okay. Without Musil it is still the team that hammered everyone in peewee. They have the deepest defense by far. Many of the other Tier 1 teams dont have 1 dman that could make BWC.
All the speculation on teams and players will get sorted rather quickly in Chilliwack shortly. At least for B.C anyway.
Losing a kid like Musil would be a big loss for the BWC but I hear he will report to tryouts the first week of Sept. I think you underestimate the 97 talent pool at the BWC. If you think they only have 1 or 2 key players let the year end results speak for itself.
With bwc's defence and goaltending they will be fine
"Many of the other Tier 1 teams dont have 1 dman that could make BWC' are you serious? Your telling me Juulsen, Browne and Gatenby cant make that team?

BWC is still top team in PCAHA without Musil. Who are the next 5-6?
I like the looks of in no order
Semi
Nswc
Clov
Whats happening in Seafair/Richmond? Is the talent being split or are the top kids all playing in one assoc.?
I said many, not all. Does POE have some yes they do. Does Kamloops yes they do. Many do not and very few maybe 1 or 2 teams in the province have 2!
Didn't Semi beat BWC in PeeWee a year ago, Semi has only gotten stronger by adding more talented 97's. It will be surprising if any 98's crack the Semi team this coming year
I agree with BWC and McBride in goal, that boy started growing in Atom and the last time I saw he hasn't stopped, he is very good. (do they run with 1 or 2 goalies?)
who else does BWC have on the D line that plays a huge force, and can be out every other shift?
I see Schultz and Marsallis as physical strong second years and I am probably missing a couple young men from their last year AA program??????
I do like all the rumors of the rebuilt new Semi team roster and POE will be a huge impact in the mix.
Never underestimate NSWC and their talent draw, Harkens, Babbich etc... they also have a couple key 98 sniper talents and a solid 98 D or two that may make their team
Cloverdale i am not so sure about this year, they could be or could be nots at the end of the season....
Seafair and Richmond seems to be a toss up every year until after their try out period. Both groups seem to have improved on their team development and skill leadership or programs. seafair would seem stronger on paper with the names on their current try out roster, but that could change with the wind.
All the best to another great hockey season,
Juulsen is playing in Abbotsford though.
last year bwc ran 2 goalies as both rana and mcbride rotated thru 50/50,this year you will see mcbride carry the load 70/30 as they will not have that strong goaltending duo, fatigue may be a factor with the big guy near end
Shultz massellis Fabbro lee barberis
There ya go.Backend will be a problem.Besides musellis, non physical and puck distribution?
Shultz massellis Fabbro lee barberis?
all i see is 3 97's and 2 98's on the back end
Schultz is solid, Fabbro is very good as 98 birth year, may struggle a little with the size and speed of this new level hockey
barberis plays well when he has a great supporting D, seems to panic and gets caught skating the puck into trouble (easly read) a solid AA player
lee is big, skates well, struggles mullti tasking skating and carring the puck and uses his great size like a butterfly, but he does have his incredible stick check reach.
massellis is consistant and plays a safe game.
very interesting comments though,
What?Bear bgoing to POE as well?Holy crap.Sick
Tyler shugrue 98 goalie will back up Mcbride. Shugrue is probably the top goalie in western Canada
Top 97 western goalie and top 98 western goalie. According to the list from this site.we played against the 98 team in PG. Goalies are the least of the problems.
The reason i think they does well in the regular season is not because of there goaltending. Another comment (obviously from a BWC person) said they hammer everyone, and goals aren't coming from the player in between the pipes.
The stats show these goalies are just good goalies behind good teams (well balanced depth).
I guess it's easy to create select teams if you belong to these private clubs.
Burnabys PeeWee goalie got exposed several times by teams in the provincials with simple shots on the net. If your not ready and warm you get fooled by the little shots.
Langley tied them 5-5 in the provincials and did so with less then a dozen shots on goal. Was it a bad game, or did Langley find shugures weakness?
We the young man gets to play to at least 20 percent of the season.
If you think you found Shugrue's weakness (obviously from Langley) then you should have watch him in spring against top teams and in the Quebec tournament. Absolutely outstanding!!! MVP in Challenge Cup and MVP in Quebec!!! Everyone has a bad game just like your kid. It's all part of maturing. Don't let one bad game fool you !!!
Shugrue was outstanding in challenge cup. But not MVP For that team ,he was top goalie in tourny. But white Kryski Hannoun line WOW!
I watched that game and Langley got a lot more than 12 shots on goal.
Read the comments on the BC Hockey web site .They did not find Shugure's weakness ,he played well. 3 of Langley's goals were on break-aways. He is one of the top 98 goalies and will do well in Bantam.
You guys your missing out on this Jonny Evans kid from North Delta, he will go top of the first round.
I think OHA will be a strong team this year
OHA?They are tier 2 arent they?
Shugrue-Mcbride combo won't be nearly as effective as the rana-Mcbride combo last year, if you think Shugrue is top goalie because he did well in spring you are terribly wrong, wait till big tourneys happen, see how he does then (if he even gets played)
Was the arm a hair line or a major break ?
I agree, Shugrue won't see much if any ice time in tournaments thats if he makes that top team
Politics will direct his future at the Burnaby Winter Club, will he leave the club like he did at North Shore if he doesn't get his way?
Jonny Evans was a solid player in minor and atom hockey, his only weakness is his size but his heart and desire should show his true colors.
Was that Shugrue that played for the 98Vipers in the Subway in Wpg? Saw them play 3 games and goaltending was not impressive. The Vipers goalie was certainly outplayed by a wide margin by the winning tender in the final.
