Alberta Cup...Northwest 4 - Calgary South 1

Through 2 games at the Alberta Cup, nothing has been all that noteworthy as of yet.

GAME 1
For the Central Thrashers it was Chase Thudium and Jayden Sveinson scoring the goals.  First round ranked Ty Mappin picked up one assist.  Matt Forchuk and Jake Dube scored the goals for the South Senators.  Highly touted prospects Conner Bleackley, Tyler Wong and Blake Penner were all held off the scoresheet.  All three players are expected to be picked in the top 2 rounds.  Jonathon Hogue turned aside 44/46 shots and had to have been the difference in keeping this one close.

  1. Hogue was the difference. He was outstanding. He had to have made at least 10 incredible saves from close in by his lateral moves going post to post on several occasions to rob the central forwards. Well deserving of the game MVP.
