Thursday

Last night in the AMBHL, the Calgary Bronks skated by the Calgary Royals 7-2 in what is a somewhat surprising result. Zach Finlay led the way for the Bronks with 3 goals while Sam Young chipped in with 3 helpers. Reid Duke scored one of the two Calgary Royals markers. Duke now has 12 goals and 25 points in 10 games. The Royals, after a hoot start, are now 5-5-0.

In St. Albert, it was MLAC getting 20 saves from Nikolai Ferrus for the shutout en route to a 2-0 victory. That was just the 2nd win of the season for MLAC who are now 2-7-1 scoring just 18 goals and allowing 46.

The Calgary Bisons were involved in yet another shootout type game in defeating the Calgary Northstars 6-5. Franco Colapaulo had 3 assists for the Northstars, Taro Hirose had 1 goal and 1 assist in the defeat. For the Bisons, it was Brayden Point with a 4 point night including 2 goals. 97 born Nick Merkley had a pair of goals as well. Tanner Macmaster was not in the lineup for the Bisons. Brayden Point now has 27 points in 10 games, while Macmaster has 29 in 9 games.

Finally in the AMBHL, it was Sherwood Park out-scoring the young Edmonton CAC squad 8-6. Tyler Maltby, Clayton Kirichenko and 97 born Cameron Reagan led the way for Sherwood park with a goal and 2 assists each. Colby McAuley had 2 goals. For CAC, 97 born star Brayden Burke had 2 goals and Cameron Hughes had a goal and 2 assists.

It was a quiet night in all three Saskatchewan leagues.....The GSHL gets back underway this evening, while the SSBHL and Centre Four Hockey League will both resume action on the weekend. Same go's for the Winnipeg Bantam League.

Last night in the PCAHA Bantam Tier 1 Group 1 action...It was Cloverdale improving to 3-1-1 with a 4-2 win over now 3-2-0 surrey. Burnaby though, remains the only undefeated team at 3-0-0 while South Delta is still winless at 0-4-0. In group 2, Seafair is cruising with a 3-0-0 record outscoring the opposition 20-3!
