Sunday....Bisons on fire

On Friday, the Calgary Bisons were involved in yet another slug-fest type game as they defeated Okotoks 9-6. The Tanner Macmaster and Brayden Point show continued as they each had 4 point games. Macmaster had 3 goals, giving him a league best 22 on the season, 7 more than Okotoks forward Connor Bleackley. Macmaster also has 33 points in 10 games to go along with 27 Pims. Brayden Point isn't far behind with 31 points, including a league leading 18 assists.

Some other things of note in the AMBHL, Ty Mappin leads all defenceman in scoring with 11-6-17 in just 9 games. He is followed by Brycen Martin of the Bisons who is 2nd in the league in assists with 14 and has a goal to go along with that.

Nick Merkley leads all first year bantams with 10 goals and 13 points in 11 games. Merkley is the brother of Jon Merkley who went high in the first round last year.

Ty Mappin is putting up lots of points listed as a D but is he actualy playing D. If so the D zone for that team must be left open a lot. It's true the bBison's are scoring a lot of goals but they are sure giving up a ton also with both Goalies over 4 GAA

The last game I saw Mappin play, he was not on Defence but a Centerman.

That is correct, Mappin is playing a bit of both. Our feeling is that he will be more productive as a centerman moving forward.
