  6. Barzal for all the above, oh yeah! He ain't playing much and healthy, does this kid have a NHL contract already and the agents/coaches on his team not want to see him slowly fall from the mighty pedistool he has been placed on since the age of 7.

I see Harkins surpassing him every time the two of them play

I hear the kid was back and just about 100 %. He played against NSWC (1st ranked team) tonight in a 5 -1 win and had only 4 point . Can't wait to watch him when he's 100 percent!!!

Sounds like he is pretty safe on the pedestal for now!!

  10. Points do not mean as much as some of you think. How these players will be able to compete with 19 and 20 year old men is what the scouts are looking for. Someone's ability to get the puck into the net after the 6 foot 170 pound player on the line has drawn 2 or 3 players to him and then dished it off to the 5 foot 3 guy standing off to the side of the net does not guarantee a ticket to the early rounds. Also, skating style is a huge factor. Odd, or a weak stride can definitely take a player of many a list even if he does get a few points here and there.

  11. NSWC just lost another game tonight to Semi, the final score was 4-3 and Harkins/Hannounn line was a -3.

NSWC must be tired after playing against 3 top teams in 3 days

  12. NSWC has to play 5 games in 5 nights none of which easy games, this schedule is not easy to win every game, and playing with injuries Harkins and Hanoun being two centres have had to double shift all of the games so far it seems, hard to do against these teams so give them some credit.

  15. Easily, the most WHL ready player I have seen this year in the PCAHA is Glen Gawdin. He is the ONLY player I have seen that has Size, Speed, Skill and Smarts. Throw in the fact that he also hits like a truck and most nights carries his entire team on his back. There are plenty of others that have that have one, two or three of the above traits, but he is the only one I have seen that posesses them all, and seems to show up every game.

  16. I don't know about you but I am going to scout at the LA Selects Holiday Tournament and I'm very interested to see how Keoni Texeira plays against BWC and POE. I've seen him against other teams not as good but I don't think he will be able to take it end to end like he does against them. I also want to see his defensive play against Matt Barzal and the other skilled forwards on BWC. Do any of you know anything about his game?

  17. argee with 8:23.i don't understand how keoni is the top defenceman in us.

  18. We played them in MH. We thought yeah they are good, But we lost 5-3- it was a good game. Then I watched them play CAC. They are very good without Barzel, but with him they are fun to watch. They can be beat. But do not get a penalty. I dont know what the rating is PER PP , but they scored many times, its almost like they wait till the penalty is over then score. They do not have a weak or bad player on this team. Their D and and goalies are both big. Barzel is just fun to watch. If they are coming down watch their games they are very disciplined. We thought we were. NSWC is in the same category. Good Luck enjoy the tournament.

  19. Is there going to be a poll of the top forwards to vote on? I am curious to see what who people see as the best.

  20. I see by a lot of your blogs that people judge players by the amount of points they get in a game , where there are so many other aspects of the game , no 1 player can do it them selves , i've seen a few of the games in MH and it seem there were a lot of individualism play ,players trying to make a name for them selves regardless of the task at hand where a pass would have made more sence than a shot on goal, seems players are more worried about thier rankings than making their team beter

Can't agree with you more. At this young age, you can already see the opportunitism amongst some players that make you shake your head.

Not wanting to do any hard work, such as back checking, fighting for the puck, being the 1st one to the corners, some seem to just want to score, often not even making an obvioue pass.

IMO, it is a matter of coaching. Personally, I would penalize my player each time they play selfishly.
