Abbotsford Hawks take huge hit

Jordan Kawaguchi taking his talents to POE
The Abbotsford Hawks have suffered a huge blow to their chances in the PCAHA Flight 1 division next year.  Star forward and first round draft candidate Jordan Kawaguchi will be joining the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy.  Kawaguchi who is the cousin of Minnesota Wild forward Devon Setoguchi is expected to have a huge bantam draft season and should be one of the leading scorers in the OMAHA league.

Also POE related, the academy is also looking at bringing in Noah Jullsen, also from Abbotsford.  Jullsen is another first round candidate and plays defense.  The thought of a 1-2 defensive punch which includes lone returnee Joey Gatenby has to have the academy excited!

Goaltender Alex Pongracz made the POE AAA program as well but a family decision has led Alex to stay with Abbotsford for the fall.

They have also added '98 F Zach Andrusiak who played peewee hockey last season with Yorkton.  Andrusiak led the SSPHL in scoring with 51 goals in 21 games.  He will look to make the POE Bantam AAA team in the fall and add loads of scoring.

  21. Watched Hannoun play against us in the Subway final in Wpg. He was the best player on a very talented team. His vision and playmaking ability are head and shoulders above the rest of his team. Was surprised at his ranking here. His ranking is sure to rise as the winter season progresses. Wish I could see him play more.

  22. Hannoun is really good but white and fabbro were on that team and they are way better. I bet you in the draft it goes 1white 2clague 3 fabbro

  23. My perspective is one of impartiality and I certainly am not gonna say anything bad about 13 yr old kids who still have a lot of development left to do. Fabbro is a good Dman. If I had to pick today it would be 1clague 2thiessen 3fabbro. It will be fun watching this age group develop.

  24. Thiessen and fabbro before white isn't even reasonable I'm from Manitoba too and there's no way thiessen will go top 3

  25. Hannoun is a very good player. Awesome work ethic, great vision, very fast and a nice kid too. He will play on NSWC Bantam A1 this year for sure. I'm not one to say that one is better then the other at this age but these kids mentioned appear to be on the right track. Great to watch you all develop and keep working hard!!!
