Sunday in Bantam Hockey


Alberta - AMBHL

Southeast 8 - Calgary Flames 3
The Southeast Hockey Hounds seemed to have turned the corner after an 0-3-0 start to the season as they have now won four of their past five contests.  Once again all three of the Hockey  Hounds top scorers played prominent roles in the win as Michael Clarke scored a Hat-trick and  now has a team leading 11 goals in 8 games.  Jordan Taupert picked up 2-3-5, giving him 17 points now and team scoring leader Michael Doneff added 1-3-4 and has 19 points.  The Calgary Flames were paced by Steven Lawrence who scored a pair, giving him a team leading 4 goals.  '99 born Luke Eamon stopped just 23/31 shots for the Flames.  Kayden Pickles stopped 31/34 in the win for Medicine Hat.

Sherwood Park 8 - St. Albert 4
The Flyers up their record to 3-1-3 while the Sabres drop to 1-6-0 after the Flyers double them up 8-4 on Sunday.  Leading the way for the Flyers was Brandon Biro with 2-3-5 and team scoring leader and first round ranked Sam Steel with 2 goals and 1 assist.  Steel is 2nd in AMBHL scoring with 13-10-23 in 7 games.  Carter Hart was busy in the Flyers goal, stopping 40/44 in the win.

Red Deer White 5 - Camrose 2
Lloydminster 9 - Leduc 4


Fort Saskatchewan 12 - Grand Prairie 0
The Rangers win their second game in as many days in Grand Prairie by racking up 12 goals on 48 shots in the game.  Bailey Whelan scored twice, he now has 4 goals for the 3-2-1 Rangers.  Brandon Bara picked up his first points of the season, going 1-3-4.  '99 born Brayden Labant doubled his season totals, going 2-1-3.  Brandon Vogel turned aside all 27 shots he faced for the shut-out.

Lethbridge 3 - Airdrie 1
The Golden Hawks are off to a fast 6-1-0 start, one of their best in the past half dozen years.  Leading the way today for Lethbridge was D - Taner Miller with 2 assists.  Miller now has 10 points in 7 games so far this year.  Jed Horvath scored his team leading 7th of the season and Tyler Anderson scored his 6th.  Andrew Suriano stopped 25/26 shots in the win.  The lone Airdrie goal was scored by Andrew Fyten and leads the 2-5-0 Xtreme with 8 points.  Jake Carlson stopped 42/25 shots in the defeat.

Edmonton SSAC 8 - Edmonton KC 1 
The Southgate Lions move to a league leading 7-0-1, having scored 61 goals and allowing just 14 so far this year.  Edmonton KC are now 0-6-0.  Leading the way for SSAC was guess who????....Tyler Benson of course, with 4 goals and 1 assist.  Benson now has 17-21-38 in 8 games so far this year.  He is on track to shatter the points record for the AMBHL.  David Quenneville, the second highest scoring defenseman in the AMBHL picked up 1-1-2 and now has 8-8-16 already.  Peter Tomares also picked up a goal and assist.  SSAC outshot KC 54-15.


British Columbia - PCAHA
Semiahmoo (1-0-1) 8 - Cloverdale 0  (0-2-0)
- Cloverdale have yet to score a single goal this season and have given up 15 in what has to considered a re-building year after such a successful 11-12 season.

Coquitlam (1-0-1)  4 - Burnaby Minor (0-2-0)  3
- Coquitlam got single goals from Fantillo, Pelletier, Semple and Takai.  Chiefs outshot Burnaby Minor 34-21.

British Columbia - OMAHA
POE 11 - Prince George 1 - Saturday
POE 7 - Prince George 1 - Sunday

Saskatchewan - SBAAHL
Notre Dame Hounds 6 - Sask Valley Vipers 6
The Notre Dame Hounds finally earn their first point of the season as they score two goals in the final 5 minutes to earn a 6-6 tie in Warman.  Leading the way for Sask Valley was Scotty Stewart with a Hat-trick, giving him 4 goals in 5 games.  Team scoring leader Liam Maley picked up 3 assists and has 11 points now. For Notre Dame, Taylor Kreutzer and Conor MacLean each had 2-1-3.  Kreutzer leads the AA Hounds with 5 points in 5 games.

Swift Current 5 - North East Wolfpack 3
The Wolfpack lose their first of the season, dropping to 3-1-0 and the Kabos Raiders move to 2-3-1.  Cody Spagrud paced the Swift Current attack with 2 goals, his first two of the season.  Tanner Nagel added two more assists and leads the team with 8 points so far.  Swift Current out-shot North East 25-24.

West Central Wheat Kings 4 - Battlefords Barons 3
The Wheat Kings move to a 5-0-1 record paced by the 2 goals from Kyle Bosch.  Kolby Johnson scored once again and now has a team leading 6-4-10 in 6 games thus far.  Justen Close was back in net and turned aside 24/27 shots he faced.  Blake Fennig scored twice for the Battlefords who held the shot edge in the game 27-21.  Both teams were 1/8 on the PP.
