Thursday musings.....

Last night in the ambhl, the Calgary Royals shut-out the Calgary Bronks 4-0. The win improved the Royals to 3-2, while the Bronks fell to 2-3-1. Leading the way for the Royals was once again Reid Duke while Jacob Ruissen turned aside 17 shots for the goose egg. Duke leads the ambhl in scoring with 7-8-15 in just 5 games.

Elsewhere, the Winnipeg bantam league has finally gotten underway. Each of the 6 teams have played once thus far with the Monarchs, Hawks and Sharks all winning their opening games. Jordan Bochinski led the way for the Sharks with 2 goals and 1 assist. Clay Tait for Interlake had a pair of goals in a losing cause. Action will continue this weekend with each team playing just once again.

Taking a look at the hockey scene in Saskatchewan....The Centre Four Hockey League will begin action on Friday night with a pair of games. In fact Battleford will start the season with 3 road games in 3 nights. If anyone is looking for a great game to watch this weekend in this league, head to Warman and watch them play the favorite Prince Albert Pirates.
