The Swift Current Bantam "AA" tournament got underway yesterday with eight teams taking part. Of the eight teams, there is one "AAA" team - Calgary Northstar Sabres. Although the Northstar Sabres are sitting 4th in Challenger South with a 4-10-3 record, they have only allowed 9 more goals than they've scored. We'll see just how good a team such as Melville is from Saskatchewan, who would have to be considered the best team from Saskatchewan their. Also taking part in the tournament are: Regina Hurricanes, Saskatoon Frostbite, Calgary NWCAA, Edmonton SSAC Alberta Sportswear AA, Notre Dame AA and Swift Current.
Day 1
Calgary Northstar Sabres 6 - Notre Dame AA Hounds 2
A pair of 98 born stars led the way for Calgary as Brayden Dunn scored 1-5-6 while Parker Aucoin 3-2-5. Jordan Xavier the captain also picked up 3 points. Jack Flaman anad Rhett Kingston scored for Notre Dame.
Swift Current 7 - SSAC AA 2
Tanner Nagal scored 3 goals for Swift Current in the win. Team scoring leader Kole Lind was strong with 1-2-3. For SSAC, Jake Donald had 1-1-2. Donald has just 5 points in 17 league games in the ERBHL. Ryan Gorodetsky had 20 pims and he has 32 this year in the ERBHL.
Melville 7 - Calgary NWCAA AA 6
Dakota Boutin had a huge game with 2-4-6 and Rykr Cole had 1-2-3. For Calgary, Hayden Ursalak had 3-1-4. He leads his AA council team with 7-7-14 in the regular season. Cale Makar was said to be strong on Defense for Calgary.
Regina Hurricanes 4 - Saskatoon Frostbite 3
Dennan Blanchard had 1-2-3 to lead the way for the Regina Hurricanes. Blanchard leads his team in scoring this year with 5-2-7 in 8 games. Erik Fleishhacker had 2 goals for the Frostbite and Cam Hebig, the teams scoring leader with 2 assists.

Just curious why you would think Melville is the best Saskatchewan team at the tournament? Looking at the league they lost both contests between them and Swift this season!
