The Dallas Saunders Abbotsford International Bantam AAA Tournament will get underway bright and early tomorrow morning.  Just taking a quick look over the 4 pools and it seems to be a very competitive tournament with the exception of Cloverdale who should be able to win it or at the very least be a huge favorite.

Pool C

  1. It'll be competitive in the final four: Abbotsford, Mission, OHA and Cloverdale. Will help this blog decide who joins the top 5 in BC and which 2 - 3 of these teams enter the top 10 in west? All of these teams have some amazing players and some weak spots so it's gonna be exciting!

  2. Do you know about MLAC or the LA jr Kings ? Will they be competitive ? Where is MLAC from ?

How has OHA been playing lately ? Could they give Cloverdale a test ?

  3. OHA - Cloverdale is a sound bet for the final but OHA is hot / cold while the Colts seem to be hitting their stride. MLAC is a middling AAA team from Edmonton. LA Jr Kings are the 2nd best LA team behind Selects... probably in the mid-pack of this group.
Wenatchee and Mission are dark horses - both have G that could steal a few.

  4. Seto will light this tournament up and be top goal scorer, Cloverdale will cruise to another tournament win.

  5. OHA has not lost a single game since Semiahmoo beat them in OT in Chilliwack QFs. They completely dominated the field in the Kelowna Tournament. They are definitely more hot than cold. OHA recently won the Kelowna Tournament and Cloverdale won the Kamloops Tournament. They haven't played each other yet this season.

  6. OHA has to be a favorite with Cloverdale in this one as they have been very strong lately. Morrison is scoring in bunches and Reagan is one of the top defenseman in BC. They have a hard working disciplined team and play a strong puck possession game. Barry in net has not lost a game yet this year. Anyone have a report on the Jr Kings this year?

  7. MLAC aka Scott Pump of Edmonton have had a very slow start this year in the AMBHL but have won their last two outings versus KC and Grande Prairie.

  8. Cloverdale, no doubt about it, will definitely win this Tournament. They missed out on the Medicine Hat Tournament by losing to POE in the Chilliwack Tournament, but they made a big turn around and dominated in the Kamloops Tournament and won that one, beating the Calgary Bronks in the Final. All 3 lines have been good for the Colts. A tough challenge for Cloverdale would be OHA. People think Mission is a tough team, not really. The Colts killed them 8-1 and 8-3 this year already. Mission does have a good goalie though.

  9. OHA is not that strong. Cloverdale has much more depth than the one line of OHA. As far as the Kelowna tournament goes it was weak making for an easy win for OHA.
Wondering is OHA avoiding POE? What excuse did they have to postpone their league game with each other?

  10. I heard OHA and POE agreed to postpone due to long weekend / sickness / injuries Why would they avoid them - Berry and OHA shut them out 1-0 already

  11. Mission also beat the Colts 3-2...as did Wenatchee 6-3. So are Colts favoured yes for sure. Are they beatable you bet. The team that gets hot will get it done. All things do point to Colts - OHA final but I remember some real upsets last year at this event as well!!

  13. POE won the game on the ice, OHA with the win over a forfiet. Just the facts, no real shut out here. Abbottsford in the final 4?

  14. Colts have had their struggles, but that when they had many injuries. They had Soy out at the time they lost to Mission. Their goalie in that game didnt play very good.

  15. I see the 2 teams out of D that will meet in semi's again taking it. Either cloverdale or wenatchee. Wenatchee has a few of horses back from injury and fwds to light it up. You best score a bunch against them, as they will get theirs. Loucks in net can be a wall, so good luck with that.

  16. POE vs OHA was a forfeit.. Not a 1-0 game.. It was more like 9-3

  17. Cloverdale will have a tough battle with Wenatchee but Cloverdale will come out on top as all of their players are now healthy

  18. Cloverdales loss to mission they had soy as a matter of fact that is the game he was injured in the last minute. Now they lose to seafair 6-5 last night proving they r good enough to win but very beatable as well.

  20. Nswc is much better than 3rd, look out Poe if they ever play

  21. teams that MLAC beat in last two outings were also weak. They will be in tough to post a win this tournament.

  22. cloverdale scored on 3 of first 4 shots, couple of nice 2 on 1's , hard to say they weren't ready to play... Seafair isn't deep as most tier 1 teams but plays to level of opposition, for better or worse.

  23. Clovy is better than Seafair

  24. Hey 7:07 PM, MLAC are 2-1 and onto next round vs Mission. Almost took out co-fave OHA today with a gutsy physical performance. I bet they level up when back in AMBHL

  25. When Colts lost to Mission - they had Soy but he finished the game playing injured. The Team did not seem in sync that night and Goaltending was good apart from one miss que by the tender that night.
