EDMONTON CAC 4 - EDMONTON MLAC 3
One of the AMBHL favourites to represent the league at the Western Canadian Bantam Hockey Championships took to the ice last night as CAC met MLAC in a battle of all Edmonton teams. CAC, who are expected to be very strong walked away with a narrow 4-3 victory but were without two of its main players. F- Dylan Stewart was sitting out as a pre-cautionary measure with a minor injury - he is expected back on Sunday, while D- Clayton Eisler who is expected to contribute offence from the back end this season was also out. MLAC actually looked like they were going to pull off the upset as they held a lead with about 3 minutes to play in regulation time. However, Brayden Burke would tie the game up with his 2nd of the game and with one minute remaining Matt Dykstra got the winner from Burke/Marshall to give CAC the way. Dykstra had 25 goals last year in AA Bantam. MLAC got 1-1-2 from Ryley Wood and goalie Eden Sharp stopped 39/43 shots in the loss.
* MLAC 98 born Nolan Volcan recieved 5 minutes for checking from behind late in the 3rd period and could be facing a suspension.

-The Dallas Ice Jets are finding things tough in Buffalo as they dropped their 2nd straight contest with a 8-0 loss to the powerful Chicago Mission. The Ice Jets now are 0-2-0 and have scored just 1 goal so far in the series.
Any word on how bad #9 Melville is getting pounded in that Manitoba tournament this weekend.
ReplyDeletethey lost 7-1 in their first game to Pembina Valley.
ReplyDeleteHas Notre Dame Bantam AAA team started in any tournaments yet?
ReplyDeleteWhich tournaments will they be participating in?
Notre Dame is special and gets to flip kids back and forth for months before picking final rosters. So they will not have a final AAA team roster till post Xmas. Nice advantage and maybe part of the reason they cannot compete for a league title?
