The January 19, 2011 newsletter is now ready.
This editiion includes many changes to the Top 150 list for 1996 born players and updates the list of the 1997 born class as well as the USA Top 25 list.
I had a chance to speak with perhaps the top defenseman available for the bantam draft this spring and he talks about how his lack of size won't hold him back. Also, I spoke with a Calgary born defenseman who feels he has what it takes to be a good all-around defenseman at the next level. I spoke with an Arizona hockey players who parents and scouts are sure to take notice of at the St. Albert tournament this coming weekend. He has an unique name and a very good hockey talent. Finally, I spoke with a south Saskatchewan born talent who feels he plays similar to Taylor Hall, scouts take notice?
The St.Albert tournament should bring some tremendous hockey to watch and enjoy for all. Sherwood Park and Seafair are in tough to even come out with a win. Can't wait to see who wins the Kamloops, SSAC, Leduc Royals pool?

Kamloops will win their pool.
12:59PM. LOL, Thats what I meant, WAKE UP!!!!! SSAC already beat Kamloops once this year and have gotten stronger as the year went, As well Leduc is playing as good as they have all year. Don't be to sure about Kamloops.

ReplyDeleteCome on now, everybody wake up and de-chip!. The 12:59 and 1:21 posts are from two different people. You mentioned that SSAC have gotten stronger and that Leduc is playing as strong as they have all year. I simply stated that Kamloops has not gotten any weaker - as in they continue to build as a team too. They may win thier pool, but you never know until the games are played. Should be an excellent tournament!

ReplyDeleteHow does Hicketts from Kamloops compare with the top D in Alberta?
ReplyDeleteI saw Hicketts play last spring with the Calgary Jr Flames and he was one of their top 2. Only other D man I thought was that good is Maxime Chevalier with Notre Dame
ReplyDeleteI dont see Hicketts that often, but from what I have seen looks to be one of the most skilled D-Men in the draft, Kord Pankewicz should be right their as well. But their are bigger and stronger D-Men available as well!

not sure where you guys get your info but I know for a fact the Thompson is 5 10 160 lbs
ReplyDeleteIs the criteria to pick top D size and slap shot? How about puck movement, positional play, coverage, vision, +/-? Some of these players are big, skate fast and shoot hard but the best D are often the ones you don't notice because they're not frantically racing around the rink trying to get to where they should have been anyway.
